"SPIDER-WOMAN IS A MENACE!"Gwen sighed as she looked up from her newspaper and stared down at the Jumbotron from the gargoyle statue she sat on. The infamous J.Jonah Jameson had decided to strike again today, the critic who always somehow finds a way to blame her for everything. Cancer? Spider-Woman. Cramped hip? Spider-Woman. Divorced wife, headline: she's taking the kids? Spider-Woman was in there somewhere. But it was a relief to hear his voice, he's been rather quiet lately ever since she sent all her rouges to maximum security prison. It's been a rather nice break since then, she watched the prequel Star Wars with her dad a week ago without any interruptions and she didn't have to abandon her post at the library for some time. But as much as she enjoyed the nice break, she needed to be out in the field, even the smallest criminals didn't sleep.
Gwen put down the newspaper and sighed once more. Any onlookers would only see Spider-Woman, believing she was overlooking her domain. While in all honesty she was just bored. She debated on breaking into Fisk industries to finally find some evidence on Kingpin, but decided against it. That would be a more than one person job and she's yet to find someone willing to help her in that. As she prepared to swing through the city, her attention turned to a small shipping truck driving through the city. Fisk Industries was written on the side of the vehicle. Chasing after the vehicle was multiple police units, sirens blaring through the night as the chased after the vehicle.
'Finally, some action!' Gwen cheered to herself before jumping off the gargoyle. She dived bomb down too the streets below before shooting web and swinging through the city, directly after the vehicle. It was odd to see a Fisk industry vehicle being chased by the police, so the possibilities of this being a mistake on Fisk's part was slim. She closed in on the fugitive vehicle, shooting a web on the back of the container and pulled herself down to the vehicle, landing atop it with ease. She then looked back at the cops in pursuit and made a peace sign, signaling to them that she had it under control. The chase was going to be dangerous with the truck going full speed and the cops chasing it would only make matters worse. She'd take these thugs to the NYPD after she handled the situation. After getting a confirmation beep from the cars did she give a thumbs up. 'Thanks guys.'
Gwen slowly crawled up the crate till she rested atop the truck itself. She needed to pull these guys over somewhere without hurting anyone. To her fortune, the New York cargo harbor was just coming up, a perfect place to crash the vehicle and interrogate the drivers. They must know something juicy to have cops chasing them. As the turn was coming up Gwen immediately sprung into action, crawling onto the side of the truck before breaking the window and firing a web at the steering wheel and yanked it towards her, causing the vehicle to turn directly into the cargo harbor. She quickly leaned backwards as a shotgun was fired at her, her spider senses giving her a quick warning. When she sat back up she noticed something interesting, something that wasn't noticeable before she turned the vehicle into the harbor: these three weren't Fisk's men. They wore simple clothes and didn't look imposing at all, these were simple crooks. She quickly grabbed the shotgun and yanked it out of the man's hand before webbing it to the truck. Before the vehicle could crash she ripped the door off and grabbed the three men with her webs before jumping away from the truck, dragging the men with her just as the truck crashed into a cargo container, stopping it in its tracks.
"Alright bozos, time to play twenty questions." Gwen cheered as she tossed the three men against another crate before webbing them there, covering their entire bodies in web, except for their heads. She walked towards them and crossed her arms as she began to interrogate them. "Number one: who hired you?"
"N-no one!" The middle guy spoke out, rather quickly mind you. Gwen raised an eyebrow behind her mask, the lens of her mask mimicked her expression. "W-we did this on our own!"
