Waking into the class I spot Tammy sitting at the extreme back with her head held down to her phone.
Sensing my presence she looked up a smile immediately making its way on her face "hey girly"
I return her smile "hi baby"
"Yuh happy eeh" I laugh when she started talking patois.
"Girl mi tired fi tell you fi stop talk suh" I laugh out holding my stomach
Tammy grew up uptown..so whenever she talked patois she sounded weird.
She just rolled her eyes smiling "I sound natural"
I shake my head sitting beside her.
"I'm so tired of his bs" she says after awhile placing her phone on the table.
"Unuh leff again" I asks turning to look at her.
Tammy and her boyfriend have been dating on and off since the last part of 3rd form.
I've learnt to keep my opinion to my self whenever she brings up his name because they always end up getting back together.
"Yes" she says sighing "I feel like this is it, I just can't deal with this toxicity it's draining my energy" she says sighing.
"Girl honesty just do what you think is best" I say trying my best to console her.
She just nods, just then the teacher walked in and started her lesson. I turn around in my seat and directed my full attention on her.
The class went by very quickly and before I knew it the bell started to ring.
Tammy and I walked out alongside each other "ugh...we need to go somewhere together" she says out of the blue.
In all our years of friendship I've never yet gone out with Tammy not even once.
We just haven't really been that 'oh let's go eat at this place' type of friends.
"We definitely should" I say after thinking on it for a while.
She just smiles slightly "my cousin got backstage passes to a concert this weekend, we could go to that"
I'll be 18 by then so Paulene cyaa stop mi sparkle.

I don't even feel excited for my birthday tomorrow it just feels like any regular day, go to school, go home.
I don't even feel like celebrating my birthday, it's just a waste of time and money which I don't have right now.
Sigh
"You have any classes after lunch?" she says pulling me away from my thoughts.
"Nope" I answer "you have any?"
