A Losing Game
⇌••⇋Yuna snuck her way out to the front door. She was sure her mother was in a deep sleep, so sneaking was barely even necessary but she did it anyways.
After locking the door behind her, she began walking toward the direction that she saw Ryomen go earlier in the night.
The streetlights buzzed overhead, the only sounds along with the gentle wind. It was autumn, Yuna's favorite time of year. The weather was turning, the leaves falling and the days changing to night even sooner. She realized that it wasn't even terribly late into the evening, the distant sound of church bells chiming and signaling that it turned nine o'clock.
When she looked ahead at the turn of the block, she could see a tall figure standing in the glow of the streetlight. His hands were in his pockets, his head turned to the sky as he hadn't noticed her approaching yet. She smiled, moving to hide in the shadow of the buildings.
Yuna silently crept closer, sneaking up behind him in hopes of scaring him like he had done to her earlier.
Yet when she was right behind him, about to pounce, Ryomen quickly spun around and wrapped his arms around her waist. She squealed, startled as she thought she was completely quiet in her approach.
He laughed, keeping her within his grasp so that she shook along with his laughter. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, you tried so hard. It was adorable, but... you aren't as sneaky as you think you are." He looked her up and down as he still held her close.
It was so strange, Yuna wasn't even put off by his touch. She actually enjoyed how warm his arms were around her, his smell accompanied by the faint remnants of a cigarette. He must have just smoked...
"You brought my jacket?" He pointed out in her distraction. "Why didn't you just wear it?"
"I brought it to give it back to you..."
"Put it on." He ordered, though his tone was light.
Yuna certainly had a feeling that it was a suggestion she wouldn't be able to deny. If she tried, at least. But, she didn't really want to anyways, so she sighed before pulling the thick fabric over her arms.
She had washed it before planning to return it, so the smell of cigarettes was a bit less noticeable than before. But she still thought it smelled like him, or maybe it was just due to Ryomen being so close to her now.
He stepped even closer, reaching out and grabbing the sides of the jacket. Yuna's eyes widened, a blush covering her cheeks as he connected the zipper, pulling it up until it was just below her neck.
