Coach Ilunga enters and wait for me to guide him.
I'm so stressed, what's the meaning of this?
Maël stop!
Me: Please sit down while I call my parents.
I take the opportunity to take the bowl of plantain chips on the table and my cup of fruit juice. I tried taking my phone with the same hand holding the plate but due to the stress of him being in the room, the plates falls and the chips too.
Me: Sorry...
Why do I say sorry?
Ilunga: Hold on let me help you.
He tried helping but I stop him.
Me: Coach no. He seems surprised, yeah I would have been surprised too if I was in his shoes, please relax it's okay, I got this.
He sit slowly. Oh yeah I know you.
After cleaning up the little mess I made, I finally take the way to my parents room. After 2 hours eheh.
Toc toc
Me: Maman, papa, please someone is waiting for you.
Mum comes out of the room. She does something which is to say "who?"
Like her I do "I don't know"
Once at the end of the hall separating our three bedrooms from the living room and other rooms, mum stops in her walk towards coach while Ilunga I mean coach after realizing her presence gets up on his feet.
Maman: Your face look very familiar but, those were the first words she uttered, I don't know where exactly..
Ilunga: Good evening ma'am. Sorry for coming at this hour of the day.
Maman: Oh no it's not late, just 4pm. Ilou.. Inouga?
Ilunga: Ilunga, he correctes her, yes it's me.
Maman: Oooh my son. Ayoo ayoo ayooo. Welcome back. Sit sit, did she made you stand all this time? Waouh, you are all grown-up. How are you doing?
Wait wait, why is she accusing me now?
He on the other hand is just smiling. I know this, I have been through this feeling countless times.
You know when you meet someone who knew you in your childhood, and now that you're a grown person they feel always surprised.
I am sure that's how he feels now.
Poor coach.
Maman: Weeh Anthony come oh, come and see who is here to greet.
Papa: joining us, Oh oh Ilunga is that you ? I heard your voices from there, how are you my son?
Ilunga: I'm fine sir please and you?
