Still enjoying the goodness of being on vacation, enjoying and counting my blessings. I just have to make good use of the time before starting with Uni, I know it won't be easy.
Tonight we are having diner with the Ilunga family. It was a surprised to know that was actually his surname. It sound just like a name.
For the occasion mum asked me to make some varieties of soft drink.
I did my everyday sobolo mixed with pineapple juice. I made it in extra so they can have some more afterwards.
He likes it, he will have a lot to drink for the rest of the week.
In all, I made 10 bottles, 10 big bottles. 6 bottles of sobolo and 4 bottles of tiger nuts drink.
I didn't know what to wear this evening and my little finger could tell me maman will put on an african print and so with the help of my girls we decided I should also go local. I pulled out of my wardrobe my latest jumpsuit in Ankara dress that I have not wore yet.
It brown color is okay for the occasion. Not so dim not so much.
I stand before the motor and stare at my reflection, the left shoulder of the jumpsuit falls in a nice cascade that reach my wrist length. The right side of the dress is free open.
Just perfect.
My eyes delay a bit on my chest, I hum then slightly turn around to look at my back. Do I look like my age? Definitely not with this body. I am blessed.
Front
And
Back
This makes me uncomfortable sometime.
After another hum I utter in order to forget about the thought that are about to filter in my mind, I swipe my dress with my hand as if it would erase all the cramples. I look just beautiful.
Based on the information I got from my dad, the Ilunga's invited us to celebrate the return of their son. Something small, just our families. I think it should have been the other way round, we should invite them, but maman told me they insisted since we were not invited to the welcome party.
When the time to leave was getting closer, I was done with everything. There is something you should know, in this house you can never be late. In fact you should not be late.
First of all lateness is not allowed because biblically to be on time is a commitment, being faithful to your word.
In addition to that maman has never allowed none of her children to be late, she doesn't like waiting and so who are you to keep her waiting because you're not ready? Especially on Sundays, laughs.
Maman: Maël, we're moving. Hurry!
Me: Yep I'm done, I shout back to make sure she can hear me.
Last splash of spray and I'm good to go. They were already sitted in the car when I joined.
Papa: The most beautiful!
