the escape

The Escape part 4

We drove and drove... It had been a couple of hours since the whole pirate thing happened, so we thought that it would be a good idea to sit down a while and just take a quick breather.

We sat down by some rocks and took some of the food and water out of my backpack and started to eat. While we were eating a question just flew out of my mouth.

''How are we supposed to find a spaceship in the middle of nowhere?'' I asked just quiet enough for Ella to hear.

''Hmm, well there is an Imperial Space force port just a mile north from here'' she said as she looked at a map

''Where did you get the map from?'' I asked with a shocked voice.

''Oh this? Well, I kind of took it from the pirates'' Ella answered.

I just stared at her blinking every now and then.

''Well, why didn't you say anything!'' ''Let's go!'' I said with a big smile on my face, she smiled back.

I took my backpack and jumped on the speeder as she joined me. I hit the gas pedal as hard as I could, and Ella screamed as she almost fell off. Me screaming in joy and her screaming in fear and excitement.

We were almost at the space force port, and I started to slow down.

We eventually jumped off the speeder and walked instead so that the Empire wouldn't notice us as easily.

We were standing on top of a hill, we thought about how we could get down to one of the smaller spaceships.

I heard a light shriek as I saw Ella sliding down the hill and getting dirt all over her pants, but she did get down, so I did the same thing just you know a bit safer like climbing down instead. I got red dirt all over myself but at least it was good camouflage.

We sneaked towards the ship. The ship was small but could easily fit two people. We climbed in the small triangular spaceship and sat down in the seats and clicked the button which closed the door.

''Do you really know how to fly this thing?'' Ella asked me.

''Maybe'' I said.

''Maybe?!'' she practically screamed out.'' it's a YES or NO question!'' she added.

I got the spaceship going by clicking a few buttons on the roof and pushed forward the throttle that was on my left so that the ships engines would burst out flames and a big cloud erupted behind the flames and then the spaceship took off.

''Yes, I can fly the ship'' I said with a grin as I looked at Ella.

She let out a small laugh as she said: Now that is the answer!

I focused back on the flying. Seeing on the screen below the window that we were about 11 meters up in the air, when all of a sudden the Empires turrets started to shoot at our ship.

Me and Ella screamed in fear as one of the wings got shot off. The ship began to spin really quickly and eventually crashed down on the ground.
