I heard the footsteps getting closer, so I backed away from Jimin. We looked at each other, freaking out as if we knew we would be dead meat if my mom caught us together in the middle of the night in the darkness of the kitchen.

"Quick, just...go upstairs. I'll just act like I was getting something to drink," I whispered worryingly.

"...You were, though," he smirked. "Goodnight," he muttered sexily, winking at me before running out of the kitchen and upstairs.

"Goodnight," I murmured, but I wasn't sure if he heard it.

I opened the fridge again, grabbing my Gatorade as my mom entered the kitchen. "Oh my goodness, sweetheart...You scared me half-to-death," she whisper-yelled, placing her hand over her heart.

She sat down her purse and lunch bag on the counter as I sipped my Gatorade. "Sorry, Mom. I was just so thirsty...I think I'll just bring this up to my room," I replied, referring to my drink.

"How was your night? What did you guys do?" she asked, opening the fridge to grab herself a water bottle.

Umm...we did a lot of things.

"I got my weekly McDonald's with Lily, the boys came home from wherever they were, and we played UNO tonight. Then they ended up watching some Netflix series," I shrugged, hoping she'd buy it.

Please buy it.

Because if she really knew what had happened tonight, from the party to the kiss, to the make-out sessions, to what just happened between me and Jimin in the kitchen...I would be doomed.

"Ahh, I see," she cooed. "I always wondered what Jagger did on the weekends, but Jimin seems like a great influence on him," she explained, making me slightly blush at the mention of Jimin's name. "Don't tell them, but...when you guys were at school the other day, I just peeked into the guest room, and wow, is he organized? It's gonna make it easy for me when I do my weekly cleaning of y'all's rooms on Sundays."

"Oh...that's good," I said nonchalantly, trying not to act too much in favor of Jimin. "How was work? Busy? You're home kinda early, no?"

"Ugh, you don't even know...But luckily, I negotiated with my boss to give me some day shifts, so I won't have to work crazy hours on the weekend," she sighed, grabbing some things out of her purse.

Oh, no. I mean...good for her, but oh no for me.

"That's amazing, Mom," I cooed quietly. "You don't need to be working those long hours, anyway, it'll soon take a toll on you."

"I am thankful to have such an understanding boss," she smiled, scrolling through her phone. "So, tell me...Are you sure you're okay with another boy living here? Because I don't want you to feel―"
