Chapter 2: family above all

It was my second day at school i wake up and groan as i get out of bed. i hear my phone ring and i answer the phone it was hades my best friend who is like my brother  i smile.

Hades says, "I found blaze."

i say "where the hell is he?"

Hades laughs and says, "he's in jail for hacking into the FBI's witness protection list."

I sigh and say, "why the hell was he doing that?" Hades says, "blaze is still trying to find his sister."

I sigh and say, "if Clarisse wanted blaze to find her she would let him she does not want to be found."

Hades says, " i know but that's not going to stop him, i paid a guard and they told me there going to lock blaze up in France, and there are rumors going around that someone has put out a hit on him."

I sigh and say, "hades after Allison died i swore to her that i would stop the mafia life and try to make something of my self."

Hades says "aspen i know kid but blaze is our family and we also promised Allison that we would look after each other no matter what."

i finally agree hades is coming to pick me up. i call Rosita and she answers,

" Rosita can you get my work from school for me I'll be out for about a week i am m not feeling well."

Rosita says, "you want me to come over?" i sigh and say, its alright ill be better soon im just going to sleep. I hear a knock on my door and hang the phone up i open it thinking it was hades to my surprise it is Lorenzo.

I look at him and say, "what the hell do you want?" Lorenzo says, "calm down princess im just coming to check on you after yesterday with Diego."

I laugh and say, " im fine i can take care of my self." That's when i see hades walking up my driveway i see Lorenzo's face change i smirk he's jealous. I walk up to Hades and hug him. Hades looks at Lorenzo and then he looks at me and says, "so this is Lorenzo." I look at hades and say, "yes." Lorenzo looks at hades and says, "what the hell are you doing here hades."

Hades smirks and says, " Didn't she tell you im her boyfriend?" Lorenzo looks at me confused and me and hades look at each other and start laughing. Lorenzo looks at us both

and says, " Whats so funny?" Hades laughs and says, "Im her best friend and I'm like her brother." Lorenzo looks like he was about to shoot hades I laugh. And hades hugs me again I smile.

He smiles at me and says, "aspen we need to start going if we want to catch the truck." I nod I walk into my house to get my bags.

Lorenzo's pov:
I watch as aspens walks into her apartment to grabs some of her bags. I look at hades and say, "what the hell are you doing with her, you're not even aloud in Spain."

Hades smiles and says, "I don't follow rules very well Lorenzo and she's not stupid she knows about the mafia."

I look at him shocked and say, "where the hell are you to going then, I know she's going to be gone for a week?"
Hades says, "where going to help our friend blaze." I look at him and say, "let me guess blaze?" He nods and I say, "I'm helping you blaze helped my father."
Hades says, "that's up to aspen."

Aspens pov:

I walk out of my house with my bags and see Lorenzo still here. I say, "I thought you were leaving Lorenzo?" He looks at me and says, "I'm helping you get blaze back."

I look at him and then hades. Hades says, "he owes blaze, he helped him once."

I look at them both and say, "If anyone dies I'll bring you back from the dead just to kill you myself." Lorenzo says, "noted."

We all get in my car we stop by Enzo's to get his stuff and we started heading towards France. We park on the road halfway to the prison where the guard said they would drive through. My car is parked and hidden between a bush by some old train tracks.

We sit there waiting on the truck to drive by with the prisoners.

Lorenzo says, "Aspen how long have you been involved with the mafia?" I laugh and say, "I'm not in the mafia and I'm not involved anymore put it this way most of the mafia wanted me dead at one point."

Hades laughs and says, "that's an understatement kid." I look at hades then I look at Lorenzo and say, "how long have you?" Lorenzo looks at me shocked i say, "I used to have to spy on mafia families id get paid a lot to protect them and sometimes kill." Lorenzo looks at me and says, " your echo?"

Lorenzo looks at me and says, "I thought echo was a boy they said he took down a group of men."
I look at Lorenzo and laugh and say "I did take down a group of men but last time I checked I was a girl."

I smile and he says, "how the hell did I not know the echo was living in my city." Hades laughs and says, "because I sent her here I taught her pretty much most of what she knows so did blaze and Clarisse , if she didn't want you to know she was here you wouldn't.

A few hours later

We hear and engine I get out of my car and pull my mask over my face so do hades and Lorenzo. We set up spikes for the truck to hit.

The truck hits the spikes and flips over the guards get out of the truck and start pulling the prisoners out. Lorenzo and Hades stay around my car and I sneak behind the guards and stab them.

I walk towards the flipped truck and hear the door get kicked open. One of the prisoners grab the guards gun and shot at me but Lorenzo shoots him then I stumble a little bit and I realize Lorenzo wasn't fast enough.

I shake it off and walk towards the truck i see blaze I run and hug him he hugs me and says, "hey kid."

He looks at my face as I say, "blaze  ." I start to cough blood and fall he realizes I've been shot and he grabs me and picks me up.

They all run towards the car.

Hades was in the back with me and lorenzo was in the passenger side and blaze was driving. I say, "so much for someone not dying." Lorenzo looks at me and says, "you're not dying, not unless I'm the one who shoots you."

I sigh sitting in pain trying to keep them open hades sat there trying to keep me awake.

Where about an hour away from the hospital.

I look at hades and grab his hand and say, "hades I'm scared I don't want to die.." I start breathing heavily I start to get light headed. Hades holds me and keeps pressure on my abdomen where I got shot. Hades says, "you're not dying not today kid, where going to make it."
A little while later
Blaze says, "stay awake Aspen where almost there."
that's the last thing I remember before passing out.
