As soon as they were out of earshot, Percy stood up and shut the door, locking it and placing a silencing spell around the room. He searched the room for any sort of magical or muggle spyware before nodding in satisfaction and sitting back down.
“What is so secretive that you had to soundproof my office?” McGonagall asked, her curiosity piqued.
“This is classified information.” Percy leaned back in his seat. “Are you aware of why I am here, Professor?” he asked seriously.
Confused, she said, “I would assume you are here to learn magic, like all other students.”
He shook his head in amusement. “I already know everything you could possibly teach me,” he said.
She frowned in disapproval. “I did not expect such arrogance from you, Mr. Jackson.”
“Forgive me, Professor,” Percy said as he realized what she took his words to mean. “I was not intending that to come out as it did. I was merely stating a fact. I have been training in the ways of magic since I was nine and am a fast learner. I completed the coursework of a seventh year when I was twelve. Just a few months ago, I found myself in a place in which time progresses much differently than here. I spent thousands of years with little to do other than hone my skills and gain a better understanding of magic. I meant no disrespect to you; you are a brilliant witch and an excellent teacher. I only wished to help you understand why I am here at Hogwarts.”
McGonagall, although not quite sure how to respond to the information that her student had just given her, nodded. “So, your reasoning then?”
“I am here to protect Harry from any and all possible threats, including Professor Toad. My intention was to divert her attention away from Harry and onto me. And it worked perfectly… until he had to go and shout at her when she was testing my knowledge of the subject beyond what some would deem reasonable.” Percy rolled his eyes. “I’m going to have to talk to him about holding his tongue around her.”
“Why would you agree to this assignment? Why transfer schools just to protect Harry?” she asked. She knew that Harry needed protection but had expected Dumbledore to hire a professor to provide it; she did not expect him to recruit a student.
Percy bit his lip and mentally got approval from Hecate and Aphrodite to tell her everything, as she was pure of heart, honest, trustworthy, and loyal. “You must swear to not disclose this to anyone. Not even the headmaster. This is one of my most closely held secrets and if it got out it could jeopardize everything.”
Hesitantly, the professor nodded. “I swear that I will not tell a single soul about this without permission from you.”
Percy sighed, knowing her words were true. Perks of being blessed by Apollo. “Allow me to reintroduce myself. My name is Perseus Potter. Harry Potter is my twin brother, whom I have not seen since we were eight years old. I went to sleep one night in my small closet, after a particularly rough beat down from my uncle, and woke up in a couple’s apartment in America. There, I met my two adoptive parents: Sally Jackson and Poseidon, Greek god of the seas and some other stuff. I went on quests, as demigods do, and fought in a war against my grandfather, Kronos. Not even a month after that, Hera abducted me and a Roman demigod, wiped our memories, and sent us to the other’s camp in a wild gamble to try and unite the two peacefully instead of repeating history and starting a war between the Romans and Greeks, because another war was coming against Gaia.
“During this time, me and six other demigods traveled to Greece and Rome to stop Gaia from destroying the world with her children, the giants. Lots of stuff happened, one of which was me falling into Hell and being tortured there for thousands of years, before we stopped Gaia and united the camps. After that, we worked on rebuilding our camps and building relations with each other.
