Cyberchase: Heart Attack

Chapter 8

The next morning, Jackie decided to text Inez, to see how things were going.

"Hey, how are things going?" Asked Jackie. " busy, i'm awake first. Trust me, it's a weird feeling. Is Laura outgrowing her clothes?" Asked Inez.
"Yup, she can barely fit in her pajamas. I'm guessing that Junior is having the same problem" replied Jackie. " yup, i'm gonna need to get him bigger pajamas pretty quick. If i don't he'll be sleeping in his underwear" texted Inez.
"Well, if he does, then he'll be sorta cute" texted Jackie. " yeah, Matt does the underwear only in the summer. I tell him a big guy in his late 30s, and is mistaken for a beached whale, is not very attractive in only underwear" replied Inez. " at least he doesn't go outside like that" texted Jackie. " thank God for little miracles" replied Inez. " hey, what time is the party, on saturday?" Asked Jackie. "3:00-4:30, so that Matt will be alert through the whole thing" replied Inez. "Still weak huh?" Asked Jackie. "Yeah, he's slowly doing better, but he usually needs a power nap in the late afternoon, and a solid one either before dinner, or after. It's easy to tell, because a power nap doesn't involve slobber, and if he snores loud enough, he'll wake himself up pretty quick" replied Inez. " what's the solid one like?" Asked Jackie. " the exact opposite, he'll slobber, and reguardless of snoring volume, he will not wake himself up, even if he starts grunting" replied Inez. " i don't have those issues with Bob. We're both light sleepers" replied Jackie. " i'm a light sleeper, while Matt is a heavy sleeper" texted Inez.

" how's it going doing all the chores?" Asked Jackie. "Honestly, i don't know how Matt did it by himself, before getting married" replied Inez. " i'm assuming he had at least one energy drink" texted Jackie. " he says energy drinks can cause heart problems, and he refuses to be done in by an energy drink" texted Inez. "Then i have no clue. Matt's not the type to ask for help" replied Jackie. " speaking of help, i think i hear the sound of a big man, trying to get up" texted Inez. " ok, we'll talk later" replied Jackie.

Inez walked upstairs, and found Matt trying to get dressed.
" what are you doing?" Asked Inez. " i'm getting up" replied Matt. " nope, not on my watch" said Inez. " but i was moving around yesterday" argued Matt. " true, and you were dog tired after 9:30" replied Inez. " yeah, we usually have time to cuddle" agreed Matt. " i also don't want you pushing yourself. The doctor was very clear on excitement. I figure to allow you to move around every other day, then as you get stronger, you can move around every day" said Inez. " will i be limited on the days i can move around?" Asked Matt. " very much, until your next appointment with the cardiologist in 2 weeks" replied Inez. " what about Junior's party?" Asked Matt. " it'll be small, and we'll have typical party games. You can help with the games, like setting them up. That shouldn't excite you too much" replied Inez.

" So, can i move around or not?" Asked Matt. " you're not going anywhere today, now you lie down" replied Inez. Now, Matt knew he'd never win an argument with Inez, so he complied. " i'll be right back with a heart healthy breakfast" smiled Inez.
Matt got comfortable again, and waited for Inez to get back.

Now, kids, especially babies can be clever. Matt had decided to get up and use the facilities, when he saw Ernest, and Leroy walking around behind him. " i thought they were still in their crib" he thought to himself. Matt just looked at the infants, and they looked at him, just staring/blinking. After a second, Matt started doing his business. Ernest walked over to look in the toilet bowl, but before he could see anything, Matt changed angles, and blocked Ernest's view. " sorry, but you can't look until potty training" smiled Matt. Ernest decided to occupy himself, by playing with a bottle of shaving cream on a low shelf. He was holding it backwards, when he pressed the button on top of the can. The result: a face full of shaving cream. This caused both Leroy and Matt to laugh.
After pulling up his underwear, Matt took a picture, and sent it to Inez.

Inez was finishing up getting Matt's breakfast when she saw the picture.
" he looks like a mini santa clause. Gotta share this with Jackie" she replied.

Jackie was cleaning up after breakfast when she saw the picture.
" hey, Bob you gotta see this silly picture Inez sent me. Apparently Matt caught Ernest playing with some shaving cream, he pushed the button, then got a face full. This caused both Matt and Leroy to start laughing" smiled Jackie. " i wonder if Ernest sprayed Leroy with the can for laughing at him" smiled Bob. " well, you can see Leroy in the background clearly laughing, so either way it's a classic baby picture" replied Jackie.

Several hours later, Inez had told Junior to play quietly. She explained that Matt wasn't going to be moving around mutch, so she'd have her hands full.
Junior found a toy camera that took real pictures, and decided to have some fun. His first picture was of his mother. Unfortunately this created an awkward picture, because she was on the floor. She had been cleaning out the fridge when she heard him giggle. " did you take a picture of me while i was cleaning out the fridge?" Asked Inez, with a smile. " wanna see my picture?" Asked Junior. " sure, i wonder if it's anything like the ones your father takes. He always catches people by surprise" replied Inez.

Junior showed her the picture.
" Junior, that just shows my bottom, and "wow, does it look big at that angle" said Inez. " i don't think it's big, mommy" smiled Junior. Inez smiled " well, it's really a trick of the camera. There's a phrase, the camera adds ten pounds". " what should i take a picture of next?" Asked Junior. " there's lots of things, so just walk around. Remember, if you go upstaires, try not to wake up daddy. He might be awake, or not" replied Inez. Junior had a great idea. He already took a surprise picture of his mother, so his father was the next logical choice.

Junior walked into his parents' room to see if his dad was doing anything he could take a picture of.

Junior was dissapointed. His dad wasn't awake, so the picture wouldn't be interesting. He thought for a second, and grabbed George the bear off the side table. " this should be good, daddy and his bear" Junior smiled. He put the bear under Matt's arm, then took the picture. Junior decided to leave George where he was, and left the room.

Several hours later:

Matt jerked awake, and noticed the bear under his arm. " hey, where did you come from, George?" Asked Matt. A few minutes later, Inez walked in. " i see you're awake. I checked on you a few times, but i didn't want to wake you up" she smiled. " what time is it?" Asked Matt. " 6:30, and i made you some pork, and baked potato" replied Inez. " that sounds good, and i dreamed Junior was in here with a toy camera" smiled Matt. " yeah, he found a toy camera that takes pictures. He actually got me earlier" laughed Inez.

'Hmm, maybe i didn't dream that" said Matt. " well, it depends if you were partly awake at the time. If you were, then he probably did walk in" said Inez. " well, i was kinda in and out. He probably didn't notice because at that level of alertness, i still tend to snore" replied Matt. " yeah, i've noticed that to, now eat your dinner before it gets cold" said Inez.
