Cyberchase: Heart Attack

Chapter 11

After the party, Inez brought out the other cake. " what's this?" Asked Matt. " i made you a cake to celebrate you being released from the hospital" replied Inez. " and you remembered my restrictions. It looks good" said Matt.

Soon everybody was enjoying the cake. " wow, this is surprisingly fluffy" said Jackie. " yeah, i tried to add a nice texture" said Inez. " well, i like it" smiled Matt. " that's the most important thing" smiled Inez.

Soon it was bedtime.

" ok, Junior, time for bed" said Inez.
" ok mommy" smiled Junior as he ran up the stairs. " i'll be right up for our story" said Matt. " ok daddy" smiled Junior.

Inez picked up Ernest and Leroy, who were sound asleep on the floor. " i can't wait until i fully recover from that heart attack" said Matt. " the doctor said there will always be things you can't do or eat, but you'll live a long life if you do what you're told" said Inez. Matt smiled and went to read to Junior.

Inez was just falling asleep when Matt tried to slip in next to her.
" i'm awake, but try not to make noise" she mumbled. " sorry, Junior only made it through a few pages. I guess the party wore him out" said Matt. " how do you feel?" Asked Inez. " i had a full day too.  I think i'm slowly getting my strength back" replied Matt. Inez didn't respond. " i guess she's a bit tired from all the work today" smiled Matt. Soon he was asleep.

2 weeks later

" well, let's check the readings on your ICD" suggested the doctor. " how does it look?" Asked Inez. " i'd like to check it again in 2 weeks. If it still looks this good, Matt can start driving again" replied the doctor. " that would be nice" agreed Inez.

" now how has the energy level been?" Asked the doctor. " he's slowly getting stronger" replied Inez. " yeah, now i only need 1 quick nap instead of 2 long ones" agreed Matt. " that's good news. I want to take a quick listen to your heart" said thd doctor.
" is it good?" Asked Matt. " sounds pretty good to me" replied the doctor.
The rest of the vitals checked out, and Matt was given a list of what he could and couldn't eat. Inez bought a heart healthy cookbook to make the new diet easier. 2 weeks later, Matt was cleared to drive, and resumed his chores.

It would be several years before anything else major would happen.
