Pokemon: The Loudest Ranger

Chapter 25

It's a sunny day again, the two rangers and their Pokemon are just doing their paperwork while the Pokemon are resting or playing with each other.

Suddenly a fax comes out of the fax machine, the two rangers look at each other before doing a game of rock, paper, scissors.

Nick/Lincoln: Scissors! Stone! Paper!

Nick has stone.

Lincoln has scissors.

Nick throws his arms in the air, celebrating himself.

Nick: The good old stone! And the crowd goes wild!

Lincoln shakes his head in amusement, stands up and walks over to the fax machine to get the fax out.

Nick: So what is it?

Lincoln: That's interesting. "Power outage in Lumiose City, much of the city closed while investigating the problem. It is suggested to avoid Lumiose City at this time."

Nick: What could that possibly be?

Lincoln: No idea but that's the problem of Ranger Base 16 to 18. That's their sector. Unless they ask for help, we are not allowed to intervene.

He goes back to his computer and continues working while Nick stretches.

Nick: You're right.

And the two of them continue to work with it. But after a while an alarm goes off, they both get up and walk towards the screen, which shows a picture of the forest. On the map, a large area keeps flashing red and the alarm goes off.

Nick: That's right!

Lincoln: Yes, this is the restricted area. No people are allowed to enter the area.

Lincoln walks over to the computer and types something. Soon, footage from several cameras spread around the area appears on the screen. You can see a chain link fence running through the forest. They look at all the cameras before they spot anything.

Nick: There camera 12.

Lincoln zooms in on the picture and what they see makes them feel a little worried. The chain link fence was cut open in one place.

Nick sighs and puts his hat on.

Nick: Then let's get going.

The two rangers and their Pokemon get into their jeep and drive off into the forest. It takes some time until the rangers finally arrive at the spear area where the fence was cut.

They get out and look around. It's as quiet as it can be in a forest, the only noises right now are coming from Pokemon who seem a little upset.

Nick kneels down and examines the floor. He spots a few footprints leading into the spear area. He follows the footprints back and discovers a black Jeep that was hidden in the bushes.

Nick: Hey Lincoln.

Lincoln approaches Nick and sees the Jeep.

Lincoln: I see. I'll get the claw quickly.

After a few seconds, Lincoln comes back from their Jeep with a large yellow device, which the two place on the tire before attaching the claw. The two rangers get up and go to the hole in the fence.

Eevee is on Lincoln's shoulder and Swampert is behind Nick. They enter the spear area and look around.

They follow the footprints deeper into the area. Lincoln often looks into the trees or bushes and discovers some frightened Pokemon, which he quickly calms down with the help of Eevee.
