Atsushi's POV:

I am almost trembling with nerves. It was the day before I had to go out for the mission, and I had just pulled up at a cafe. Dazai had informed me that a good meal would calm my nerves as my nervousness prevented me from eating for 3 days in a row. Just as I was about to enter the cafe, I caught a familiar glimpse through the shimmering glass windows. It was him, dripped out in black sunglasses and his regular coat with his ruggedly definitely- not-handsome looking hair. Someone I despised wholeheartedly and had no desire in seeing. I quickly relocated to another cafe as I would rather starve than eat at a cafe with him.

But then he looked up, and I ducked under a bench outside quickly, where I got a couple weird glances. Hey, why was I smiling? Whatever, it certainly wasn't because of him. I think he saw a bit of my white hair, because his scowl deepened and was definitely directed in my direction. Well, that was probably the last I would see of him. Once I was on the mission, all my thoughts would be clear of him anyway.

It is the next day. I am with Dazai, entering the black building. I voice my concerns to Dazai, yet he just tells me I'm worried about nothing.

We enter a room, and I let the door slam shut behind me just as Dazai's eyes widen in alarm and he reaches out to try and prevent me. It slams just before he can reach it and locks. We both hear a turning sound like old mechanisms, and now there are 30 armed humans in full black armor.

"Dazai what do we do?" I say, panicked.

"Distract them! I'll strip them of their abilities," Dazai voiced, I immediately complied as I jump to make a ruckus. All eyes are set on me as I leap straight into the middle of the crowd. Out of the corner of my eye, I see Dazai dart around, a soft blue glow emitting from his hand as he touches them lightly on their shoulder. But they aren't completely stupid as I hoped. One of the people break away from my left side and head straight for Dazai. I try to yell out to him, but an arrow whooshes past my left ear and whirls around behind me and tries to stab me.

Instead of attacking him, the person takes off their helmet, luxurious dark brown hair the same shade of Dazai's cascading down her shoulders. She purrs something at him, and I can hear her silky-smooth, slithering tone creep down my spine. I suddenly want to obey everything she says, and then it hits me. This is her ability. Dazai's eyes widen, and he starts talking to her as if entranced. If this is her ability, then I'll activate mines as well.

Beast Beneath the Moonlight

I roar at a magnificent volume, making my attackers stumble and clutch their ears. Dazai is still talking to her, more intensely this time. Dazai, no! Whoops, that's one strike for me! Dazai doesn't have telepathic powers. Just as he's turning around with her at his side, ready to leave, he pulls out a knife and stabs her in the back.

"Nice try," his eyes are dark and tunnelled, like the black void walls surrounding them. She gasps and clutches her bleeding chest as he wrenches it out and stabs her again, then again, and then stops once she is lying on the floor, bleeding and dead. I stop in my tracks, I should have known Dazai wasn't stupid. My rage calms down as I stare at the dying woman on the floor. Although my time of awe is cut short as other people start rushing toward Dazai and I. With no time to think, I start lashing out at them in tiger form.

"Keep them distracted!" Dazai yelps, I should listen to him but my blood boils with determination. For once, I actually felt excited to defeat the enemy. Soon enough, every enemy is on the floor, either dying or already dead.

"I hope you didn't use all your energy on this room, we have many more to go," Dazai said with a smirk. Although he didn't say it, I like to believe he is proud of me, I did contribute to the defeat of our enemies quite a bit! My happiness and excitement is outlived as I realise the people dying on the floor and the fact we have many more enemies to defeat. I spotted the door left of the room we were currently in.
