Dazai's POV:
Our situation isn't good. We've been here for 30 minutes at least, and we're already tiring.
I duck under a stray bullet and roll out of the way as an arrow soars straight through the air at me. "You're supposed to defend me!" I yell at Chuuya for fun, because I know that he's struggling to fend for himself.
"Shut up, bastard. Least you could do is touch them!" Chuuya smashes a blue-haired man into the wall and barely has time to turn around to dodge another attack.
As I race to the key, the lovely octopus lady shoots little bullets of goop. I jump over three of them as they punctured the obsidian wall and leap off the wall to avoid another batch of goopy bullets.
At one point, I am halfway there before the octopus has had enough and tramples over three of her allies just to block my way. She's smart, I'll give that to her, I think as I immediately stop because of the stench of a thousand rotting eggs hit me.
While I hesitate, Ms. Octopus raises two of her tentacles to sandwich me while her six others wriggle towards Chuuya, now unarmed and barely escaping the tangle of people with his life. I double back to help him, narrowly missing being smothered by a giant pile of hissing green goop.
I look back frantically. We couldn't fail now. Chuuya had managed to scoop up a knife and was now fighting back.
"Heads up!" I yell, and I used a nearby knife to scoop up some of the goop. By the time I launched it in the air, the metal was already sizzling.
It hit one of Chuuya's attackers, slicing him neatly across the throat. Unfortunately, this gave some of the other attackers some ideas. They all ran to the nearest pile of goop— which wasn't far, considering that the octopus lady was shooting it everywhere.
"Goddamnit!" One of the attackers' gloriously gloopified knives scraped Chuuya's shoulder, and he grunts with pain, clutching his wound and ducking under another flurry of knives. Screw it. I am going to have to help him.
I vault off the wall and dash to the scene. The only downside to my awesome plan was that the octopus lady has herded us into one, which is making it harder to dodge.
I grab a black-haired boy by the shoulder and shove him into another person. They fall to the ground like dominoes, but I waste no time in stepping over them to get to Chuuya.
He was struggling, his wound spurting green pus. He looks behind me at Ms. Slimeshooter, and I see blood pour out of his wound, fresh even though it had been made long ago.
"Leave now, and nobody will be harmed," One of the ability users speak. They're almost all dead or wounded. I assume that Chuuya has this in the bag.
I take off to the other side of the room, covering ground as fast as possible. There are many flaws to this plan, however. The octopus lady slithers back again, eyes squirming with malicious joy. She's toying with us.
"Chuuya!" I yell as I hurtle towards him. He turns, knowing what I am referring to instantly. He knows that there is no option left... and I am here too, so what could ever go wrong?
Chuuya activates his Tainted Sorrow ability. His eyes darken into pure black, and there is a new, red aura coming off of his body.
With a shriek, he takes off the ground and starts bashing the octopus lady in the head with the one of the people that tried to slice off his neck with the gooey knives. However, there were many flaws to this plan.
The moment Chuuya slices off the octopus lady's tentacles, they regrow instantly. Of course, like any typical octopus monster that spots green goo.
