A faint wind was slowly brushing over Lily's face, there was no smell of cars or the modern technology. Just a hint of wood burning in the air, but nothing more, it was surreal. Like a dream that should once ended. Slowly she opened her eyes to see greenery, rocks and just a beautiful landscape taken out of a fairy tale. There was a waterfall in the distance instead of the rush of cars, it was just too quiet, almost in an uncomfortable way.
She got to her feet, secured in leather boots and god she already missed her sneakers, but she had to find someone. Someone that could at least explain were she was and maybe how she could get home. There was people back there that would miss her, her family and her boyfriend.
Not having any choice she stood up, her spear around her neck and her ring around her finger. She got to walk at what she could guess someone used as a walking path in the mountains. Maybe this would at least get her to someone. With each step she took she felt like the surrounding resunated with her, almost as if mother earth welcomed her home, it creeped her out to some degree.
It did not take more than ten to twelve minutes' walk in the green and lively nature to find a small and humble adobe. She stopped up, hesitating to get closer as she did not know who or what was waiting on her, but she went. Getting closer she saw an herb garden well protected from the wind with stone fence. Just like the house, also of stone and with greenery on the roof.
At the threshold she stopped, contemplating with her shelf what she were to say or do if they did not understand her, but at the minute she were to knock on the door, it open up. A smell of herbs and leather meet her before she saw the figure who had upend up the door for her.
A piercing gaze looked at her. A figure in robes spun from ancient textiles, homemade and raw, but beautifully defined to fit its shape. Strands of silver hair weaved in her long brown hair that had been let loose. Giving of a feeling of warmth and solemnity. Her voice clear and stern as she spoke to Lily.
"Welcome traveler, I have been waiting on you" as she beacon Lily to come in.
"You... you knew?" her words caught in her throat, whom ever this lady was, she was in on this. She knew why this storm swallowed her up and why she landed here in god forsaken land.
The lady looks back at Lily and her lips curling to a serene smile, "I am one of many völur that are walking these lands, we are here to help once that are like you. " Before walking deeper into the house, not feeling that she had any other choice, she follows in and closes the door behind her.
Flickers of candlelight gave the inside a warm feeling, herbs hanging to dry, giving of a sweet and bitter aroma in every corner of the house. Crackling fire gave a warm and calming feeling as a pot were cooking slowly over the fire. Fure pelts were stretched over the sitting places, giving of a cozy feeling to the hut.
She showed with a hand gesture for Lily to sit down, so she did as this lady got to the pot and mixed around. "You see, a prophecy has been foretold about your coming. My job is to give you guidance as far as my knowledge can, but I do not know who sent you here as your presence is still hidden from mortals like me."
"Would it help if it was something with Odin to do?" not knowing how open she should be with this weird herb lady she has just meet.
"Yes, he works with the most strange ways, god of war as he is." The seer looked over at Lily as she slumped down in the chair. Taking her head in her hands.
"Wait, can I see?" the old lady walked over to Lily and knelt so she would be on same height as her. Lily nodded as her old fingers slowly took her hand, wrinkling and dry skin going over the ring she had put on. "Ohh, the ring, I had totally forgotten about it." She said sleeplessly to the old lady, who was now looking over it keenly. The lady looked up at her with surprise and fear at same time, like she had seen a ghost. The gesture spiked fear in Lily, as she had her hand and was now holding onto it tightly.
