My dear friend~

Chapter 1

My name is Sanemi Shinazugawa, I'm 16 years old, I go to a school called Kimetsu Academy Highschool and I have fallen in love with my own childhood friend, Obanai Iguro. He is a year younger than me. I don't really know what to do, should I confess? Obanai likes a girl, Mitsuri Kanroji. Sometimes I wonder, Am I good enough for him? Am I capable of being a good man for him? I really don't want anyone to go near my Obanai...

{Sanemi and Obanai are both 8 years old}

"Sanemi let's go play!" Obanai said to me as I walked out of my house, I look down at him "Sure let's go play" Obanai nods and grabs my hand. We head towards a river that is near our neighborhood."Sanemi have come your family is so rich?" Obanai asks as we both sat down on the soft grass "*sighs*Well my dad owns a company and would do anything to keep the company up, even if it meant to sacrifice his kids" I respond to Obanai "Sacrifice his own kids?" Obanai seems confused about what I mean "Well you'll understand once you're in 5th grade" I smile and then I look down at the water "How's your brother?" Obanai asks " *sighs* Same as usual, but he seems to get more friends, I'm glad he can finally socializing with others" Obanai looks down at the water "You're a great older brother and you seem to take really good care of your brother, Sanemi" I feel a warm feeling inside of me.

{In his class}

Man why is class so boring, I prefer sleeping then learning the same thing. "Hey Sanemi" Obanai whispers "hm?" I look at him "What's up?" I whisper back "Do you know the answer for this?" Obanai whispers "Lemme see" Obanai shows me the question and I look at my paper "So-" just as I'm about to explain it to Obanai the bell rings "Ah...can you help me after school?" "sure" I pack my thing up, I wait for Obanai since we both eat lunch together.

{Lunch}

I put my tray of food on the table and I sit down on the chair as I wait for Obanai to sit beside me. After some minutes of waiting he finally came and sat down "What took so long?" I asked him "I was talking with my friend" Obanai says smiling "Oh okay, Well let's start eating" I told Obanai, Obanai nods and looks down at his food "Are you not gonna eat?" I ask "I don't want to take my mask off..." Obanai says quietly "Oh..." Obanai then lower his mask half way, making sure his scar didn't show.

We both start eating, but I don't eat everything since I don't like broccolis "Sanemi you should eat your broccolis" Obanai says "I don't like them" I said "*sigh* You have to Sanemi" I pick my chopsticks and then i grab one of the broccolis and I start eating it. This tastes like shit, I thought.

{After school}

Me and Obanai walked together from school "Sanemi" "Hm?" "Are you going to help me with my homework?" Obanai asks, I wanted to play today, but Obanai is my friend and if he doesn't finish his homework we won't be able to play, I nod "Thank you!" Obanai says as he hugs me, I hug him back "How come You're taller than me?" Obanai asks "I don't know" I respond "Let's hurry so we can do my homework!" Obanai says "Okay". Obanai runs towards his backyard and I follow him.

{After Sanemi is done helping Obanai}

Third person POV:
Sanemi helps Obanai put his homework away "You owe me" Sanemi says "Huh?" Obanai says in confusion "You owe me for helping you" Sanemi says "What do you want?" Obanai asks "I don't know" Sanemi says "Will this do" Obanai then gives a small kiss on Sanemi's cheek Huh?" Sanemi is confused, but also happy "That'll do" Sanemi says, Obanai smiles "Wanna go to the river again?" he asks "Sure" Sanemi responds

{At the River}

The two of them are laying down on the grass "Sanemi, Why didn't your brother come to school today?" "Oh he's just sick" I respond "Oh okay" Obanai says  "Sanemi, is it okay if I call you Nemi?" Obanai asks "Um...sure, but you'll have to let me call you Obi" Sanemi says "Okay!" Obanai says smiling brightly.
