She's a work of art, and I'm afraid to admit how long I could stare at her, admiring her and keeping her hidden from the rest of the world like the greatest secret in the universe

I'd never seen anyone like Carmen Nova de Luca, the young girl who captured my heart two years ago when I didn't even realize it. She was a brilliant thief, carrying out the heist entirely on her own, hiding my heart in places I would never have thought to look for. In her.

I must admit that I was looking at her a lot, but not in that romantic and forbidden way; those things worried me. Love was always something terrifying for me, and committing after the worst breakup ever wasn't the best option. But looking at Carmen, the dreamy girl from Island of Capri and her tanned skin after three months of soaking up every second of the Italian coast, woke up something inside of me every time we met during the holidays. Something wild, wild as my dreams after this Thanksgiving dinner at her house.

Looking at her gleaming smile, which appears to be composed of moonlight particles, like petals of light fallen from the moon. Dimples were already appearing on her right cheek as she recognized me across the street and waved.

"Nice hair, stranger!" she shouted, wrapping her hands around her mouth so I could hear her. It was noisy outside, as usual our neighborhood in November, with barbecue and music outside, an important item on their to-do list.

"I got bored with long hair, nice tan tho," I said to the young girl with the largest smile on her face. That expression on her face said it all. I recognized that gesture.

She was walking towards her porch with her back to me when she abruptly turned around and said, "See you around," and I just nodded with a slight smile. This girl was something else, and I know people say that all the time, but Carmen truly was. Her entire being was mystical, veiled, forbidden, and flawless.

I knew she was totally forbidden for me because her brother warned me numerous times during summer vacation and on occasions where both of our families were present. Sometimes it's good to not follow the rules, right? Because, spoiler alert, neither did I, nor did she.
