Your boyfriend miles had set you up, again, for the 3rd—nah—4th time that week. And it was only Thursday. You sometimes wondered why he even bothered.
You had already sent him multiple texts asking when he would get there, only to be left on delivered or seen.
You felt like crying over him sometimes, and sometimes you felt like leaving him, but most of all you felt like he was hiding something.
Not something small or something of that sort. Something big, something he should've told you a long time ago.
It had been about 30 minutes since you arrived and at that rate you were beyond pissed and sad. So there you went, walking home again. By yourself.
It sucked, really—but what did you expect from miles morales?
As you were deep in your thoughts, a voice called out from behind you.
"Ma, wait."
You groaned at the familiar voice and turned around, displeased.
"I'm sorry," he paused, glancing at you, then continued. "I'm really sorry I'm late again. You still got time for me?"
This is the time.
This is the best time to break up with him.
But you can't,
You can't do it.
Not when he has that face of guilt on, that genuine, face of guilt.
"I..ah..." you pretended to get a notification from your phone. "Shit, um..Sorry, Miles, I can't. Not today, tomorrow?" That face of guilt plastered on his face made you feel guilty.
Hold on.
Why do you feel guilty?!? He's the one that set you up!
"Oh, I see. Do you want me to walk you home? It's getting late—m' not sure if I want you walking home alone this late."
You let out a nervous chuckle, it's not that you felt uncomfortable with him, but you didn't want to snap. "It's just a few minutes away, I'm okay, goodnight, Miles." You turned your back on him and walked away, leaving him there.

And then some news hit you.
"We are moving to Chicago!!" Your sister yelled and ran around the house.
"Huh..?" You were left confused.
"Aren't you excited—oh... Miles.." she piped down in realization. "Long distance..?" She offered.
You stayed silent for a second, then responded. "Yeah.. something like that."
You both sat in embarrassing silence, tuning out the moving furniture around the house.
"Well, let's go pack then." You flashed a fake smile, your sister flashed a real one back.

You met up with miles the next day after school.
"Hey mami, I gotta be somewhere soon but uh— no rush. What did you wanna talk about?" He adjusted the strap on his shoulder from his backpack
"Miles," you walked closer to him and took his hands, making his strap shift on his shoulder, "Be honest with me." He raised a eyebrow.
"What is your job? What do you do?"
