"azaire you need to relax.." mama said as i pulled my hoodie over my body.
"mama i have...i needa go check on xylah and i have therapy.." i mumbled.
"just invite her over-" i cut her off.
"mama i've been in the house for the past 3 weeks straight, i get food delivered here...the gang comes over here. i'll be fine." i said and she pouted as my dad walked in the room.
"marie the boy is fine-"
"you shut up talking to me." she pointed at him and dad sighed.
mama found out what all led to me being in the coma and she's been on both our asses ever since.
"marie come on." dad said pulling mama out my room and i sighed.
i checked my phone hearing it go off a few times.
xylah: how you feeling today?
-i'm doing better i didn't need to take any medicine today, what about you?
xylah: nauseous and lightheaded
-you've been drinking more water?

-xylah drink some fuckin water gang, you know that nurse gave you that bottle for a reason
xylah: but she wants me to drink like 4 of those in one day😒
-you need it for hydration ma
xylah: i guess..i'm coming over today?
-nah imma come see you
xylah: really? your mom letting you leave the house? you sure you don't need to stay home more
-it's been 3 weeks i'm good

i put my phone in my jean pocket before grabbing my keys and walking out the house.
i checked my phone again once i got in the car seeing the boys text our group chat before they started a facetime call.
"yooo! azaire yo ass finally out the house." taylin said once the call connected.
"i thought ma dukes was gonna keep you there forever." benz said.
"she trying— she still pissed at us, mostly my dad." i said starting my car.
"damn...what you finna get into?"
"therapy and see xylah..." i said before we went off into a different topic.
i hung up once i got to my therapists building, i checked in before walking straight to her office.
"azaire it's been a minute..." she said and i nodded.
