Chapter 22

Sitting kinda slouched in his chair that use to belong to Jabba the Hutt, Boba Fett was lost in thought. Not too long ago he took over Jabba's palace by killing Bib Fortuna. Bib after all left him for dead in the sarlacc pit knowing very well his father's beskar armor would keep him alive. He didn't hear Fennec talking to him. A hand waving in front of his face brought him back to the present. "Boba...did you hear anything I said?" Sitting up straighter he cleared his throat and shook his head once. Fennec sigh slightly and repeated what she was saying. She was half-way through with her sentence when one of his Gamorreans guards came into the room. The guard made a grunting noise to get both of there attention. Boba spoke to the Gamorreans guard in Gamorrese, the language of his guards. He easily picked it up while working for Jabba for so long. After asking what the guard wanted, the guard told him he had visitors. Arching a eyebrow he glanced over at Fennec who steps away from Boba and pulls her weapon out. He gives a quick nod to the guard and tells him to show his guest in. Boba was not expecting any visitors that day, but someone coming unannounced was not uncommon with Jabba. So he guess he should expect it to happen to him. Rolling his shoulders he got in the mindset to fight, just in case. Any number of people would love to be where he was but he was not going to just give it up. Not without a fight. He didn't have to wait long for his guest to come into the chamber.

Two figures in long black cloaks with hoods over there head walked into the room with two Gamorreans guards with spears behind them. Fennec glanced coldly at the cloaked figures as she placed her weapon against her shoulder. Boba studied them for a minute before he spoke. "I ask if you would please remove the hoods so I can speak to you probably." One figure can a sharp tsk noise while the other elbow the partner. Reaching up the figures pulled the hoods from there heads and stood still. Boba did not expect two people from the Galactic Empire to be standing in front of him. A red hair male with a sickly scowl pinch face and a woman with a silver stormtrooper armor let both Fennec and Boba take them in. The male smirked at him and stepped forward. "Boba Fett. I'm general Hux of the First Order. This is Phasma a stormtrooper captain. We are here because you are of use for us. You see we allowed Jabba the Hutt to do his business as long as he helped us with certain....things. Now that you have taken over we are asking the same for you. We want you and your bodyguard here to kidnap Grogu and the Mandalorian you know as Mando. We need you to do this effectively immediately. We will provide the means and anything you need to do the job."

Boba just stared at the man called Hux. He wanted him to kidnap his friend and fellow Mandalorian plus the child who was in training to become a Mandalorian. Glancing at Fennec who gave him are you serious look, he looked back at the man and shook his head. "I'm sorry...but I will not kidnap a fellow Mandalorian who is my friend and his child. I don..." Boba was interrupted by Hux who scoffed at him. "Boba....you do not seem to understand. If you do not do as the First Order says we will take everything from you. Like I said before how do you think Jabba rose into power so quickly. Do you not think we didn't or wouldn't notice. We owned Jabba as we own you now. Nothing happens without the First Order knowing about it. let alone let it happen. It would be so easy to send in stormtroppers to take the palace back and throw you in a hole to die. Be smart like Jabba and work with us."

Fennec with quick reflexes aimed her weapon at Hux, the two guards behind them squealed with angry for speaking to there boss this way and aimed there spears at the two. Boba raise a hand and told his guards and Fennec to stop. Fennec turned to Boba with a confused look as the guards slowly lowered there spears. "Boba...do not agree. We cannot work for the likes of them." Fennec protested. Boba flicked his hand dismissing his guards and Fennec. Not moving Fennec shook her head. "I need to speak to them alone Fennec. I will be fine." He said slowly to her. Sighing she let her weapon drop to her side as she walked pass the Hux and Phasma. Hux gave her a smirk which annoyed her as she walked out of the room.

Once the three were alone, Boba leaned forward in his chair. "What you ask of me...is unforgiveable. I know of the First Orders strength, I know what they can do. I also know if I am to be taken seriously I also have to show strength which is not easily achieve without power. I need to think before I make my decision, if that is fine with the First Order." Hux a tad annoyed gave him a fake smile and nodded with his hands behind his back. "We need your answer before we leave this palace. Just know if you say no, the First Order will not stop until you're just a memory. That is not a threat Boba but a promise. Now we will leave you to your thoughts. Talk to your bodyguard even, we don't care. We need a answer and we need it soon." Hux turned on his heels with Phasma and walked out of the chamber.

The man didn't give Boba a chance to say anything. Slouching in his chair he was lost in thought again. Betraying a friend let alone a Mandalorian was unthinkable. Putting his head in his hands he gave a grunt of frustration. If he was to do this. He had to be sure Mando would never know it was Fennec or Him. But he knew the First Order would have that against him. Blackmailing him the rest of this life, let alone working with them. It was a lose, lose situation. If he didn't do it the First Order would wipe him off the map, just a after thought and if he did. He shudder thinking of all things he would have to do for them. A thought made him lift his head. Maybe...just maybe he can go along with what the First Order wanted him to do. He would kidnapped the kid and Mando like that what him to do and when the time is right he would help his friend. Like Mando has helped him. He would have to be extremely careful on how he played this. Letting Fennec know what he was planning was a no brainer. He called for Fennec who came in with a annoyed look on her face. Boba quickly but quietly told her his plan, which she thought was very risky but agreed with him. Feeling confident he called a guard to have the Hux and Phasma come back into the chamber.

Now they stood in front of Boba, waiting for a answer. Taking a deep breath he spoke to Hux. "I have thought it over and will accept your task. I will not need anyone but Fennec to help me. I do not know where Mando is at the moment but I know someone who does." Hux with a fake grin, clapped his hands together. "Excellent! I knew you would make the wise decision like Jabba did. We will provide the funds to get where you need to go and as far as your bodyguard and you getting the Mandalorian plus the child we reluctantly agree. Phasma mentioned that if the child or the Mandalorian get wind of the First Order near it would be harder to get them. Now we must be on our way. Here is a holo-sphere that you can use to get in touch with Phasma or I." Hux and Phasma left quickly after that. Not wanting to be seen in a what they consider a dump of a palace.

Boba and Fennec talked and planned the most of the night. After there talk Fennec got in touch with people she knew, asking where Mando was. After the eight person they finally got good news. Mando and Grogu where actually on Tatooine with Peli Motto who she knew managed the hangar 3-5 at the Mos Eisley Spaceport. Fennec shared the info to Boba who used the holo-sphere to let the thrilled Hux know there luck. Boba told him that he would go out tonight and start tracking Mando. Knowing Mando he was on a bounty hunt job. Finding him would not be to hard. Hux reminded him the importance of the job which he didn't need reminded but said nothing about that. After his talk with Hux, Fennec and Boba got ready and departed to kidnap his friend plus his child.
