Certified genius, Arlo Curran, met and gathered six rich and powerful men from six different countries over the course of a decade—forming the first ever international mafia. Though a little insane, Arlo is the sole mastermind behind his new organized crime network: The Black Web.

I'm just sticking with Italian terms for the sake of explaining this, but each man (minus Arlo) is the don to their own mafia. Arlo is not technically a mafia man, though he sort of acts as a don to the original six dons. Basically, he's more of a CEO—the guy who organizes and manages this network while simultaneously working to expand it even further. By choice, he doesn't involve himself with each individual mafia, but the men would willingly follow his orders if he wanted to. Arlo has the ultimate authority, and all of the men really respect him (they each have their own personal reasons as to why).
Arlo and his original six dons are known as "The Ring." Even as Arlo expands the web, these six men will always take precedence over others and be ranked higher than anyone else he recruits. They all have a very tight-knit bond.
Each of the six mafias operate independently for the most part, but the seven men meet up once a month (rotating countries) to make agreements/trades. They do regularly work in collaboration with one another on certain things though. Their mafias are not the only existing mafias within their home countries, but they have become the most feared and most powerful over time since merging.
More information regarding the structure/dynamic and development of this network will be provided in Arlo's book (the one I'm most excited for, y'all don't even know)!

MANY DISCLAIMERS
These books are NOT intended for everyone. If you are heavily triggered by or uncomfortable reading about topics such as (but not limited to): any form of abuse or assault, childhood trauma, mental illness, death/suicide, etc., then you should NOT read this series. Such topics are usually brought up and discussed as memories—I do not typically write about them as if they're actively occurring.
Subgenres of this series include:
• Adult Fiction
• Mafia Romance
• Dark Romance
• Forbidden Romance
• Subtle Age Gap RomanceFor several reasons, it is highly recommended by me that you do NOT read this series if you are under the age of 18 years old.
There will be explicit sexual content (mostly rough/kinky), mature language, and graphic depictions of violence & murder. Beyond that, I just don't want young, impressionable minds to read these stories and think that this is what actual love is supposed to look like. It is NOT. The relationships described in this series are very twisted, and you should only be reading these books if you are able to recognize that!
That being said, pretty much all of my characters are fucked up in some sense and to some degree (not just the men). They all have underlying trauma that has made them the way they are and attracted them to their counterpart. Practicing empathy is always encouraged, however, that does not mean you have to agree with all of their actions—nor should you. They will all be problematic at times. The men, specifically, are not exactly the best people (as they are literally involved in an organized crime group) and should not be viewed as such. These books are very dark fictional fantasies and should remain that way!
I do not condone all of the behavior displayed within each relationship in a real-world setting (they will be mean, controlling, possessive, & just overall toxic at times) and want to be clear that you should NEVER accept or tolerate any category/level of abusive treatment from actual partners.
Each book will be drastically different—some will be much darker than others. It all depends on what makes sense for the characters. This particular book will definitely be the lightest of the series.

Lastly, these books will likely contain many cultural inaccuracies concerning the country they take place in, the people who live there, the language they speak, and the dynamic of each criminal organization. I have done and continue to do extensive research for every chapter, but some things simply have to change in order to fit my story's narrative.
As a fellow POC, I am genuinely committed to doing my very best to remain respectful towards each culture I write about and truly do want to showcase them in both the best and most realistic light possible (I mean, a big reason why I created this series was to see more representation & cultural diversity within romance novels). I am not from all of these countries though, so I'm obviously not the most educated on the day-to-day lifestyles or how people act/interact. Any feedback on this is welcome!
Do keep in mind though that these men have fully immersed themselves in each other's cultures too! If a cultural element seems out of place, assume it's because it's been adopted into their culture from another.
The "mafia" will work differently in each country as well, despite the fact that they've all combined into one larger network. I will draw inspiration from already-established criminal organizations (i.e. the yakuza, mafia, bratva, cartel), but none of these men's "families" will perfectly mirror any of them. I am basically creating my own mega-mafia with its own set of rules because it's fiction and I am not bound by reality.
