Calcutta was sitting alone inside the campus, away from all the other students who were playing football and other sports in the sports area, as well as enjoying food and talking with friends. The campus was busy, loud, and filled with activity, but she was off to the side, away from it all. She was probably overwhelmed and just wanted a moment away from all the noise, to try to gather her thoughts and sort them out in some way. Being isolated, alone, and not able to do anything about the situation probably didn't make her feel much better, but she likely needed the solitude. She was seated on a bench by herself, feeling isolated and lonely. She looked away with a sad expression, realizing that everyone around her was in groups or with friends, while she seemed to be alone. On top of that, she thought about the British librarian who had given her a stern look in the library and seemed to be judging her based on her nationality, and wondered what she was thinking about her. And now she was reminded about the man, Farshad, who she was getting married to and a representative of the British government. And she wondered what kind of life she would have now, married to a man she didn't know or want to marry. What would her life now be like? How would she cope with this new reality? She felt like she had no control over it at all.

Then, a group of five of Calcutta's friends along with Milan came up and sat beside her, obviously concerned and curious about what she was doing alone.
"Hey, are you okay?" one of them said, their tone of voice filled with worry and concern.

"Is something wrong? You were sitting over here by yourself.." Another one chimed in,

"We were looking for you! What are you doing all alone over here?" The five friends all started asking questions, clearly concerned for Calcutta's well-being.

Calcutta heard her friends approach her. A faint smile appeared on her face, but she still didn't look up at them yet, thinking to herself, in a slightly more positive tone: 'Just act normal. They don't know what you're going through, and they don't need to. Just...just...be happy with your friends right now. Maybe tell them about this in the future, but you don't need to do it now.'

Calcutta was glad to see her friends and tried to smile. "I'm fine. It's just... There's something on my mind. I'm just trying to sort it out in my head." She sighed and looked towards her friends. She didn't want to talk about it, but she knew that they would keep asking questions if she didn't give them something. She decided to share a bit of what she was going through.

Friend 2 turned to face Calcutta, looking a bit sheepish. "We heard from Milan about your situation," she said, her expression a bit guilty. "We know that you're getting married soon, and we just wanted to say that we're sorry if our jokes from last week went too far."

Friend 3 agreed with a nod, saying  "Yeah...we're sorry. We didn't realize the situation was so serious."

Calcutta was surprised by the remorse and kindness shown by her friends, and she appreciated that they were willing to accept responsibility for their words and actions. "It's alright," Calcutta told her friends, looking at them and nodding in agreement.

"You didn't know about all this until now." She took a breath, and her expression became solemn again. "I... I don't want to get married... especially not to someone working for the British regime... but... my parents have decided this for me." There was a lot of pain in these words, and it was obvious that the situation was taking a heavy toll on her. She just wanted to have the freedom and choice to make her own decisions, but it seemed like that wasn't an option for her anymore.

Calcutta spoke with a downcast voice as she continued, "And no one cares about what I desire or think right now... My parents just tell me that I should listen to them... And I try to... But... But... This marriage... It just... It just doesn't feel right." Her words were interrupted by a heavy sigh, and she spoke in a sorrowful tone. "I just... I just want to live my life the way I desire... But I can't, because I don't have a choice..." She sounded like she was about to break into tears over the situation. Calcutta got up from the bench and walked away with tears in her eyes. Milan (and the other friends) watched her go, feeling a sense of sadness and helplessness. They wanted to help their friend, but it seemed like there was nothing they could do.

Milan wanted to say something more, but before she could, Calcutta had already left. She looked at the other three girls and two guys with a concerned expression and was worried about her friend. She felt like there should be something she could say or do to help Calcutta, but she couldn't think of anything at that moment.

Calcutta sat by herself in a corner of the campus, letting her tears fall as she thought about her future. "I don't know what to do," she said with a heavy heart, continuing. "I just want someone to help me, but I'm stuck..." Tears streamed down her face as the weight of her situation hit her harder with a more sorrowful tone. "I'm stuck marrying a man I don't love... her voice cracking and turning angry stuck in an arranged marriage by my parents. And... I'm stuck here in this corner because that's the only thing my parents will allow me to do.."
