[The next day at school]

"Im so sorry Megumi... I should have jumped into the conversation sooner..."
"No Yuuji, it's alright." I give him a smile.
"I love you man. Oh, as a friend of course."
I give a slightly disappointed expression "friends..." then an awkward smile.
I was hoping for something more between us.

"Oh, Megumi. Are you coming to the ようこそクリスマスの集まり? (Welcome Christmas gathering)"
"No, I don't have anyone to go with."
"You can go with me then! I think friends can go together, it doesn't have to be just couples!"
"Really?! I would love to!"
"It's a date!"

A date...

The gathering was on the 14th of December, which was only a few days away. I had completely forgotten about it since I had nobody to go with but now I'm friends with Yuuji, so I guess I do now.

[At lunch]
"So, Megumi. What are you gonna wear?"
"Maybe something like this"

Yuuji smiles "Perfect! You'll look great!"
"What are you gonna wear, Yuuji?"
"Probably this"

"Nice! It's a good outfit since it's starting to get cold."
"Agreed"
"So do you want me to pick you up?" Yuuji asks nervously.
"I would love that." I smile.
"O-ok!" Yuuji sits up strait and blushes a little.
I knew Yuuji was really cute.
"Well I'm looking forward to it! Text me the time you can pick me up."
"Of course Megumi!" Yuuji smiles brightly, it was the happiest I've seen him in a while.

[A few hours later, Megumi gets home]
"I'm ho-"
I walk in to find my brother, Gojo, fucking with his friend Geto on the couch.
"Seriously Gojo? You HAD to greet me like this?" I scoff.
"Oh, sorry man I was enjoying the moment too much." Gojo says while smirking at Geto underneath him.
"Yea, whatever. Can you just move it to your room? Also, stop giggling because it's really loud and I can't study."
Just my typical brother, it's my first time I've seen him in years, and I find him fucking his friend.
I go up to my room to text Yuuji.
Yuuji: "Hey Megumi! Have you arrived home safely?"
Megumi: "yep! You exited for this weekend?"
Yuuji: "yea... kinda nervous too."
Megumi: "why?"
Yuuji: "no reason!"
why is everyone acting so off today? Did I do something wrong?
