Chapter 4: How can we talk?

*June 15th*

*Steve's POV*

*Bus stop 6:45 am*

I can't wait to see Tyler again today. These last two days between us will be great. Well I hope. I get on the bus and find Brittanny. The bus is emptier than usually, so I easily sit next to her.

"Where is Mac?"

"He got sick last minute and now he's not coming to school tomorrow."

"That sucks."

"I know but he said we should all hang with him at his house this Saturday."

"I'm free so I'm going, what about you?"

"Yeah I'm also going."

 Soon we arrive to school, and I go to my locker. I start throwing old things away and clean it out. Tyler than comes up to me.

"Morning Steve. Do you need help?"

"Do you mind taking these books?"

I hand him a small stack of books.

"And what do I do with these?"

"They go to the library. Just tell her they are mines."

"Sure I'll be back."

Shortly after he leaves, Kali comes up to me.

"Hey Steve! You coming tomorrow?"

Why is she suddenly showing interest in me?

  "Yeah I'll be here."

"Okay cool. Oh before I forget! I need you to meet me behind the stage at lunch."

The stage? That thing only gets used for special events and any other day the curtains are shut.

"Sure."

"See you then."

She walks away and Tyler comes back.

"Anything else?"

"Nah that's it. Thanks Ty."

"No problem Steve."

Me and Tyler walk to class and sit next to each other. Brent and Brittanny watch us from far away.

"Tyler can I ask you something? Don't get mad."

"Depends."

"My friends keep saying that we would look good together and every time we get into it, they call you, my boyfriend."

To bad he isn't.

"Frank does the same shit to me."

"Oh good. Well not good! Just happy we both have the same problem. Bu-"

"I get it Steve."

"Right."

The teacher cuts on a movie and the whole time me and Tyler talk. His eyes are so pretty and for the first time he's so mature. Why can't he always be like this? For the next few classes, during each movie Tyler sat with me and we would talk it up. funny conversations and deep ones either way I enjoyed it. We never brought up the beef between me and him though. It was in the back of my mind, but I was just too scared to bring it up.

*Lunch*

I drop my things at my lunch table and wait behind the stage curtain. I wonder what she wants. It has to be something important. I pull a chair and sit down on it. I check my watch and the second I look up, I see her.

"Hey Steve."

"Hey Kali. What do you need?"

"I just needed to talk to you... If you don't mind."

"I don't at all."

"Alright then."

She stands in front of me and takes a deep breath.

"Tyler he... He has been cheating on me."

What?! No way.

"What?! With who?"

"Some girls I saw it on his phone. He said to one of them that they were going to meet up."

"Damn I'm.. I'm sorry to hear that."

Something doesn't feel right.

"I did like him but you have to move on."

"Yeah that is true."

Kali then grabs my face and kisses me. My eyes widen and the fucking curtain opens! The whole lunchroom watches me and her kiss. Everyone watches in shock including Tyler and finally I escape her grasp.

"Woah Steve! You're a great kisser!"

She yells for everyone to hear.

"Wha-what! I didn't even-"

I jump off the stage and run to Tyler.

"I didn't even want that! She forced me to fucking do that shit!"

He looks at me with a blank stare before shoving me and leaving the lunch room.

"Kali what the fuck! What the fuck is wrong with you?!"

I scream at her from across the room.

She runs off the stage and out the lunchroom. What the fuck is wrong with her?! I just embarrassed Tyler in front of almost everyone. Even before I realized I liked him I would never dare embarrass him like that. I didn't even plan that for even think that would happen! I can't believe that bitch! I leave the lunchroom and spend my time in the bathroom to cool down. It took the whole period so soon I find myself in my next class. I find Frank.

"Frank! Where is Tyler?"

"Shit I don't know. What the fuck happened on that stage?"

"She told me she wanted to talk then forcefully kissed me! Why would she fucking do that?!"

"That bitch can be crazy sometimes... I tried to tell Tyler but he didn't listen."

"I want to tell Tyler what happened but... Fuck!"

"I think he went home early man."

"Shit!"

I talked to more people, and nobody seen Tyler nor Karly. I'm not sure if Tyler understands that I didn't want that kiss. We were cool so why would I do that? He's been nothing but good so does he see this as sabotaging? Whatever he saw, it wasn't planned. Well at least I wasn't in on it.   

*June 16th*

Turns out he went on an early vacation, and he ended up sneaking out the school. Karly? Nobody knows and she didn't come to school today. The last day was normal and when I returned home my mom gave me some news, I didn't want to hear.... I have to go to summer camp....
