charlotte's love at first sight

the crisp autumn leaves crunched under charlottes feet. the scene filled her with memories of her and her grandmas first October with the smell of fresh pumpkin pie  and apple cider vinegar sitting by the fire. this all scattered out of charlottes mind as she met sight with the most gorgeous green eyes she's ever seen, radiating her heart with the sweetest energy. a huge smile grew across charlottes face, seeing his freshly licked lips slowly smile back at her. she started slowly walking over to him, but, was too shy to speak, until this beautiful raspy deep voice spoke

"what's a beautiful woman like you walking out here in the woods alone?" he asked with a sweet tone, as they both stopped in their tracks leading charlotte to look up from his tall muscular figure, meeting them beautiful green eyes again. charlotte let a quiet but awkward laugh, about to respond, until he cut her off and asked for her name "charlotte" she pondered twirling and moving her hair behind her ears." charlotte is it what a angelic name" he said in a tender voice. Charlotte was flustered as her cheeks turned red and her head was down."blushing I see is I something i said" he smirked looking down at her. Charlotte blushed even more as her grabbed her hand exchanged numbers said there farewells 'until they meet again' and walked opposite ways.

A few days pass and Charlotte, gets a text from the numbers, she doesn't recognise as she looked down on her phone, confused as ever. She started to remember the man she met, and if it was him, and it was. The text read. ' Charlotte isn't it or have I got the wrong number?' this text made Charlotte eyes light up as she realised the man could be the one. An hours long conversation passed, and they agreed to meet their meet up date was for the 5th of December and both Charlotte and the man agreed on it claiming they both had nothing planned for that day.

The 5th of December 2023, and Linny text Charlotte asking if she was ready for her to pick her up for their cinema trip. Oh, and was Charlotte ready alright but not ready for the cinema ready for a date with her new 'man'. The phone rang once, and twice, then a third time when Charlotte finally answered.
" charlotte how long are you going to be darling? I've been waiting outside of your house for the last 30 minutes you said you were ready" linny said calmly but in a clear rush.
" Nana I'm sorry I can't make it today. I um.." charlotte stutters as he tried to think of an excuse. " I'm sick yeah sorry Nan"
" Oh That's okay, I hope you start feeling better soon." linny said clearly upset, but she shrugged it off and went home
Charlotte felt awful, but admit-tingly After all this time she'd rather choose a new man over her beloved grandma.  Once Charlotte was finally ready to meet up with him, She left the house texted him saying that she was on her way, and they met up roughly 10 minutes later.

A few hours, after their meet up, they decided to both go back to his place. What happened between them was private and she slept over. The next morning Charlotte went home to touch up on both her make up and her shower schedule.
This same pattern of cancelling on her Nan grew more and more and as much as Linney was in distress by it, she acted like she didn't care.

Then on the next but gloomy day....
