Tim sighed, his breath coming out in a broken wheeze, struggling to stand as he watched Jay and the creature both fade into the darkness. Now he was worried about Jay, but he was also very annoyed at the fact that he'd just been tackled by a 7 foot robotic alligator that seemed to want him dead. For seemingly no reason. At least Jay tried to help him, he thought as he picked up Jay's discarded flashlight. He began to walk forward slowly, catching his breath. Hopefully Jay could keep himself alive long enough for Tim to regain his strength. As he walked he swung the flashlight around to either side of the hallway as he looked around. The cloak of darkness seemed to only get darker as he walked further down the long eerie hall, his footsteps echoing. The silence made him seriously worried about Jay. Shouldn't he hear something? Even screams? He tried to keep his composure as he became more worried for his friend. He heard a shuffle behind him and jerked around just in time to see a dull yellow hoodie disappear behind the corner. He stopped for a few moments, then stepped forward a few steps in his original direction. Then, trying to be as quiet as possible he turned back and waited. The figure didn't appear. He figured it was smarter than he thought, and knew he was waiting, but he stayed. The least he could do for Jay is catch whoever this guy is. He turned back, facing his original direction yet again, and walking slowly, he soon heard the shuffling of feet behind him again. Before he could turn around again for a second try at catching the guy, he heard a very distinct, high pitched scream.
"JAY?"
He heard bangs and another scream.
"Hold on! I'm coming!"
Tim ran, forgetting about poor Hoodie, who just wanted a hug, and looked inside the dim doorway of each room as he passed it. He couldn't see any sign of his friend, but he didn't see any blood or guts so he assumed Jay was fine, despite his previous assumption that Jay was just dead. Suddenly, two figures appeared from around the corner and Tim nearly knocked them both to the ground. One was warm and kinda squishy, and made a loud huff when Tim knocked into it. Probably a human. The other thing was massive and made of metal. It looked like a fox, or maybe a wolf?
"GET OFF ME!"
Tim looked down to see Alex, an old friend of Brian's from college. Tim had never really talked much with him, he seemed like a jerk and Tim was too much of a smart-alec to hang around him for too long. Alex shoved Tim to the side, glaring. Tim sat there dazed for a second before speaking.
"And what exactly are you doing here?" He demanded.
"Better question is what are you doing here?" Alex retorted.
"Looking for Jay."
"Funny. That's exactly what I was doing."
Tim noticed Alex seemed to be hiding something behind his back, and he got suspicious. He glanced over at the metal wolf thing, and something clicked.
"How come that thing isn't attacking you?" He asked.
Alex gave him a suspicious look before answering carefully.
"Dunno. The thing just started following me. Why do you care?"
"Well the last thing that started just following you won't leave us alone so I'm a little concerned." Tim remarked, pulling out a cigarette.
"Well" Alex said,"This in none of your business, so kindly get out of my way."
Tim lit the cigarette with a sigh.
"Fine." He moved to the side, leaning against the wall. "Go on."
Alex started to go, but Tim immediately stuck his foot out and tripped the poor and now very angry guy.
"WHAT WAS THAT FOR? YOU JERKFACE!"
"Whoops." Tim smirked. "Guess you should watch your step better."
"I knew you were a piece of crap but this is just childish! Go away! Go find Jay or something! I don't care just stay away from me, I've got work to do!" Alex stormed off.
"Hey Alex!" Tim called.
"What?!"
"You forgot your flashlight." Tim held out the flashlight, his expression neutral. Alex hesitated, but came back and half snatched the object from him.
"Thanks." He muttered before he left, the wolf following. Tim watched him for a bit, until he was sure he wouldn't hear him. Then he followed too. Now that Brian and Jay were both missing, he was the only other human around, so Tim might as well find out what was up with him.
