It was hard for Tim to see but he managed to stay hidden behind the two. He was able to keep up by listening to the clank clank of the robot's feet on the ground. He could hear Alex breathing heavily in the dusty building. Occasionally he would mutter something, too low for Tim to make out. Suddenly the footsteps stopped. Tim ducked behind a rusted cart quickly. The beam of the flashlight washed over the hallway, making his heart jump, but Alex said nothing so he figured he had not been seen. He happened to notice movement in the dark, and after a second, he made out the shape of the figure. It slowly crept forward, crouching behind a similar looking cart several feet away. It was following Alex too. He remained still, watching the figure. It hadn't seemed to have noticed Tim yet. Now was his chance to get him, while he was focused on other things...
He heard Alex's footsteps fading away, followed by the robot. He took his chance and tackled the figure as soon as he stepped out from behind the cart, knocking him to the floor with a hard thud. He paused for a moment, listening to see if Alex had heard, but he didn't see the light or hear any noise that would suggest he had, so he quickly pinned down the figures arms at his sides to keep him from fighting back. He struggled, trying to knock Tim off to no avail.
"Who are you?!" Tim whisper-shouted.
In response, the figure yanked his arm free and punched him in the side of the jaw. The force was enough to make Tim lose his grip on the thing, and he quickly tried to scramble away. Tim reached for him again, the two trying to be as quiet as possible while fighting. A tape fell out of the figures pocket and both guys tried to grab it. Tim got lucky and snatched it away, backing off. The figure jumped at him this time. The tape must be something important. All the stupid tapes always were. Maybe this one would explain who this thing is. The figure tried desperately to get the tape back. Tim threw it into the darkness and shoved the person backwards into the metal cart. The thing made a noise of pain, he was probably going to have a sore back for a while, with being thrown around so much and all. Tim waited to see what the figure would do. He heard the familiar noise of the robot's feet as he breathed heavily, scrambling down behind the metal cart, carefully peeking out from behind it as another metal creature came out of the darkness. He could just barely see it, but it seemed to be a chicken of sorts. He heard the figure groan in pain, trying to get out of the cart. He could hear the shuffling of feet seeming to come from the other direction. He looked that way and saw the glint of a camera. It must be Jay. He thought to himself as he turned his head, trying to get a better look. He turned his attention back to the chicken thing, wondering what it wanted as it didn't seem to be attacking the figure which was still struggling in the metal cart. Maybe even it was confused as to what it was. Slowly he moved out from behind the cart, looking up at the thing as he did so, ready to run at a moment's notice if the thing moved. It didn't, however. The figure reached for him, trying to get help but only it scared him. Tim jumped away and the chicken's head turned sharply to face him. He froze. Jay's footsteps had stopped, and he looked back to see him, a terrified look on his face. He seemed fine, for the most part. His hat was lopsided and his jacket looked as if it had been torn, but only slightly, as if he had been caught on a doorknob or something while running away. The figure finally managed to get out, tumbling the cart on its side. The chicken turned towards it instead, and Tim ran towards Jay, grabbing his arm and pulling him away. So what if the thing got eaten, why should he care. Not like he was actually his closest friend or anything that would be crazy. :) Anyway, the two guys hid in a closet, hoping they wouldn't find any other creatures in there.
"Where were you?! I thought you were dead!" Tim said.
"I was trying not to get eaten, thanks for the help!" Jay responded, crossing his arms.
"You're the one who ran off! I thought you'd died, I didn't even hear any screams!" Tim tried to calm his panic, shaking his head. He grabbed Jay's arm. "Don't run off like that again, you idiot. Understand?" Tim sounded like a jerk, but he really did care about Jay.
Jay was a bit surprised at how serious he sounded. "I was fine Tim I can handle myself ya know? I'm not going to die. You can't rid yourself of me that easily."
"Yeah that's obvious, after all, you threw a flashlight at a murder machine. Real capable of handling yourself."
"I was trying to help." He mumbled, slightly embarrassed.
"My point stands."
"I don't understand why you're so worried. It's not like you care."
"Not like I care? Not like I care?! I know you're a little slow sometimes, but come on!" He really needed to emphasize how stupid Jay was. Because obviously he did care for his friend, even if he was mean about it. He's just a sassy boy.
Jay shook his head, looking down at the ground. He pulled his arm from Tim's grasp.
"It's whatever Tim I don't even know why we're talking about this." He was getting upset now. He didn't know why Tim was so worried he truly thought that he didn't care about him.
Tim noticed Jay's expression and his face relaxed. He released the fist he was about to put in Jay's stomach and sighed.
"Yeah, whatever. Let's just go before we have to deal with any more of this."
Tim stepped out of the closet (wink wink), right into the hooded figure. Jay had looked up as Tim did so, seeing the hooded figure just before Tim collided with him. A look of surprise came across Jay's face and another grunt of pain came from the hooded figure, who tried quickly to step back before Tim grabbed him. Tim couldn't believe how much he had run into this one person in the past hour. Yet he still couldn't manage to catch the guy or even figure out who it was. Jay leans on Tim's shoulder to get a better look. The figure wore a mask of course, but Jay hadn't noticed before the wonky frowny face that was on it. Tim felt Jay lean on him as he tried not to lean forward himself so that Jay wouldn't fall over. Even if it would be kinda funny if he did let him. He had a grip on the figure's hoodie sleeve but it was slowly moving away from how much the figure was squirming. It effectively pulled its arm away beneath the hoodie, but couldn't go far as he was still wearing it. There was a loud clunk and all three guys turned to see Alex at the end of the hall, a very confused look on his face, and his hand on his hip.
