ELIAS ACCIARDI always had either Nariah or Ivy at his house. Only when his father wasn't around. Which wasn't much. He was always spending the night somewhere else, managing to find a place to stay for the night. Elias doesn't know how. He also doesn't really care. Acciardi couldn't care less if he was found somewhere in a ditch, drinking himself to death where he toppled over and fell not being able to get back up. Besides that, when he wasn't here he let Nariah or Ivy in. Sometimes they both come, sometimes only one. This time it was Ivy who was knocking at the door. Elias could tell. So when he opened the door, Acciardi moved out of the way so she could come in. Lennon had a bright smile on and her hair in two braids. He assumed Nariah braided them a couple days ago because they were messy braids. But Elias thought she looked pretty in them."Elias!" Ivy excitedly wrapped her arms around Elias after setting her bag down. She rocked them back and forth before backing up from him. "I'm so glad I'm here." Lennon walked over to the couch and plopped right down on it. "I feel like I haven't slept over here in so long.. where's your mom?" Her head snapped towards Elias wanting to know where she is.
"Sleeping. She had a long day. Went to bed early." He walked over to Ivy and sat right besides her. Lennon laid down on the couch and moved her feet on top of Elias's lap. Her arms went behind her head as she looked up at the ceiling.
"I wanted to see her." Ivy expressed sadly. After a moment of silence Ivy spoke up again. "Oh! Did she like the scarf?"
"Yes, she did." Elias replied.
"Tell me! Tell me what she said." Ivy sat up fully on the couch now with an excited grin on her face. She waited patiently to hear what Elias had to say. Acciardi liked how much Ivy loved his mother. She didn't have a good relationship with her mother so Elias's mother kind of adopted her in a way. Ivy was grateful, took pride in it. That goes for Nariah too. The two girls loved his mother.
Elias smiled. "Well, she said she'll be using it for now on because her other favorite one was ruined. So she'll be happy to show it off. I said just don't go near the market with it. She scolded me." He trailed off at the end of his sentence. Ivy clasped a hand over her mouth while giggling to herself. Elias rolled his eyes a little irritated but a small smile was placed on his lips clearly showing he also thought it was quite funny. "I might've told on you though." He announced while sticking his tongue out at her. Ivy gasped and pushed Elias away.
"You piece of shit!"
The two stared at each other before bursting into laughter. They laughed together like how they used to. Before Elias went into the games. Without a care in the world. Like the weight of these deaths wasn't on Elias's shoulder, and he actually felt happy laughing. Like he could actually laugh, like it wasn't forced, or he didn't feel like he deserved to. He laughed one of those laughs where snorts came out and his stomach was hurting so bad, but he couldn't stop because Ivy would keep adding on other stuff to make it more funny and Elias felt like he was on top of the world, like this was what he has been craving for so long. To laugh with his friends about something so little. Or even at an inside joke they had made up. If Nariah was here Acciardi just knew that she would be the first to stop laughing and trying to get us to shut up but Ivy would only point and laugh at her while saying more stuff to make it funny and Elias would clutch his stomach in pain from laughing so much.
