The morning sun painted soft hues across the city as Jeongguk walked down the streets on his way back to his dorm from his supposed morning run. He had tiptoed out of his room early that morning, whilst Taehyung slept peacefully next to him, with a heavy heart to leave the omega like this. However, Taehyung already knew of Jeongguk's morning schedule, having been with him for months.

Jeongguk therefore quietly slipped out of his room, glad to not have wakened Taehyung up since the alpha assumed he was tired from all their activities the previous night. Car sex and then more intimate and lusty endeavours after coming back to Jeongguk's dorm surely exhausted Taehyung.

However, Jeongguk's supposed morning run was interrupted when he spotted a newly opened flower shop right outside the university premises. Soon, he was cradling a bouquet of pink roses and walking back to the dorm in the tranquil morning. A smile decorated his lips, head filled with daydreams of the look on Taehyung's face when he would wake the omega up with a bouquet of his favourite flowers. The thought made Jeongguk's heart throb with euphoria. Taehyung's eyes would sparkle with joy, surely; like they always did when Jeongguk made him laugh or bought him a piece of strawberry cake or something along that context.

Taehyung was the most beautiful and enigmatic being Jeongguk had the virtue of meeting. His allure wasn't just skin deep; it was a magnetic pull that transcended the physical, drawing Jeongguk into the depths of a soul that held galaxies in its gaze. In the quiet corners of his complexity, Jeongguk found a universe to explore, a tapestry of dreams woven into the very fabric of Taehyung's existence. Every smile was a constellation of joy, every frown a passing storm that only deepened the mystery. To Jeongguk, Taehyung wasn't just a person; he was an entire cosmos waiting to be discovered—one that Jeongguk was more than willing to explore, constellation by constellation.

He reached the dorm and swung open the door. He was first met with an empty bed, unmade. Taehyung had already woken up? A small smile still decorating his lips, he walked inside and looked around, only to find the room empty. The smile had completely vanished off his face when he found his bathroom empty as well.

"Taehyung?" Jeongguk's voice, once filled with anticipation, echoed through the room, but the only response was an eerie stillness. He scanned the familiar corners, the space where Taehyung's laughter usually lingered now echoing an unsettling silence.

"Taehyung?" This time his voice was thicker, with a hint of uncertainty and fear.

The dishevelled bed whispered secrets of a hurried departure. The towel on a chair by the bed, the towel Taehyung liked to use when he was over, was still damp, indicating to Jeongguk how Taehyung had taken a shower that morning. Therefore, it couldn't have been long since Taedhyung left.

Jeongguk fished out his phone to see no messages or calls from Taehyung. He dialled his boyfriend's number. Each ring seemed to resonate with hope, but the call ended in a hollow click, met by an oppressive silence. A second attempt yielded the same result—a void devoid of the familiar voice.
