The curtains opened with a zipping sound, the hot rays of sunshine entered to the house after a 3 hours of heavy rain. Streets glisten like a canvas of liquid dreams after the rain, where each droplet left behind is a shimmering reflection of the city's secrets. Some of the houses in the street forgot to take their washed clothes inside, the water dripped from them like a waterfall, even the balconies couldn't resist heavy rain and were flooded with water which the residents were busy draining out. Every vehicle played with the collected water on the road spilling it out while passing by. The sunlight compensated hours of cloudy and rainy weather with its warmth and there formed a rainbow which was visible to only few fortunate people who took out time from their indifferent schedules to go out and watch the nature rejuvenating.
"Naina see! A rainbow" Sameer exclaimed looking out of the window. Naina rushed to him as if it was a last call for a flight she have to board. She kept the tray of coffee on table near window and swooped between Sameer's hands which were there holding the window.
"Where?" Her eyes strolled all of the sky but she couldn't figure out the rainbow.
"Look closely it's there" Sameer pointed out with his finger. Naina tried her best but failed and pouted with disappointment.
"Ok follow my finger" he then slowly traced the rainbow while Naina following his finger with all the focus.
"Oh yes! There it is!" Naina jumped out of happiness after watching the 7 colours adorned together beautifully spreading joy of refreshment to the city.
They ogled it for sometime without saying anything and just feeling the picturesque and peace.
"Ok let's sit and have our coffee" Naina cut the silence. It had become a ritual for them whenever there was a good weather like it's raining heavily, cool breeze blowing into the house or simply a cloudy weather just quiet and calm. They quickly prepared coffee for them that too made frok Arabica Coffee Beans which is the most popular variety worldwide.
They sat neighbouring the window and enjoying the view together. They kept all their works on hold if possible and chatted for hours without even taking a look onto their mobile phones.
"Trust me, the conversation we have this time is the best I don't know why!" Sameer exclaimed.
"It's because we embrace nature which makes us peaceful and to live in present, our focus remains on just each other and the weather acts as cherry on the cake. How someone cannot enjoy this!" Naina smiled and replied.
"Thanks Naina for such a beautiful idea I really feel relaxed and this time it had been a month I was busy with my project. Now it's successfully completed I'm so happy and relaxed." Sameer took a deep breath.
"Well! You worked for it day and night I think now you should take leave for a week" Naina suggested and received back a fishy look from Sameer.
"What?" She asked confused.
"Nothing just, I was also thinking about it" Sameer answered but Naina still felt something fishy he's not telling the whole truth she declared to herself.
"Oh! I forgot it's Nanu's medicine time" Naina rushed downstairs without even bidding a bye to Sameer. As we know Nanu's health is above anything else in Naina's world.
It had been one year since she took the responsibility for Nanu's health. She took him out from an impossible condition so early that even doctors didn't believe, now she's an example to the doctor's patients that if we genuinely care for somebody and truely want them to recover. Nothing is impossible.
As Naina descended she entered his room. It was a room that Naina as beautifully decorated with all the positivity she could contribute.
The room was painted pale yellow-green colour like a pistachio with windows wide opened. Along with this she decorated it with a Peace Lily Plant beside his window as well as Monstera Delicosa Plant each beside his bed which added freshness to the room 24*7. She also hanged two hexagonal wall mirrors opposite to which hanged an artwork of Buddha in meditation posture that helped creating a peaceful environment in the room. If we look down the painting, there was an Uruli Bowl she poured water into everyday adding rose or lily petals. It depicted an elephant drinking water with her baby elephant. She also kept a check weather his furniture is comfortable enough or not. If not, she immediately changed it.
Naina usually passed her 5 seconds adoring the mindblowing decoration she has done. And there was Nanaji taking his afternoon nap with a open book on his chest which he use to take just for a formality and read only for 3 minutes before the sleep surrounds his eyes. She slowly walked towards him and gently tried to wake him up.
There came Sameer following her, holding his cup of unfinished coffee. Nanaji opened his eyes only to see Naina in front of him. She asked him to sit and have his evening medicine. Sameer stated his wife who's concerned about everyone in the house yet never mentions anything.
"Thank you Naina beta!" Nanaji said while hander her back the glass of water.
"Oh Sameer! You asked for urgent tickets right, my friend has arranged that for you he'll bring it tomorrow morning" Nanaji informed Sameer making him uncomfortable because he didn't want to tell Naina about it just like that. He was about to tell her 5 minutes before after that fishy look.
"Nanu this was a secret!" He passed a annoying look to him. Naina had understood what was that fishy look all about. Now Sameer had to spill the beans which he was hiding from Naina.
"Come on Sameer! Let me tell her" Nanu replied.
"Yes sure... You tell her everything right" he taunted.
"Naina it's been a year you haven't been on a vacation together. So Sameer has arranged tickets for both of you" he explained.
"But Nanu you!?" Naina was concerned as Vishakha was out for a business trip.
"His daughter is back!" there came a familiar voice, it was Vishakha who just returned from her trip 2 days early.
"But where are we going" Naina asked out of curiosity.
"To..." Nanaji was interrupted by Sameer.
"Nanu can you at least keep this a secret?" He told and took Naina's hand and dragged her to their room.
