The third day of internships starts just like the other two. Training with his speed and precision. More lessons in Miruko-style kickboxing. Lunch. Sparring match. It’s a pretty straightforward routine that Rumi has for him, and Izuku’s grateful for that.

After their third spar, Izuku’s left once more panting on his hands and knees. But Rumi looks worse for wear. She grins at him. It’s not that grin she has when she’s anticipating a challenge. It’s genuine happiness. Elation. Pride. Izuku matches it with one of his own.

“I almost regret not having an agency,” Rumi pants. “Can’t fucking hire you after you graduate.”

“I could always do the same thing you do and just so happen to always be in the same area as you,” says Izuku.

“I like the way you think, kit,” Rumi says.

They actually run into some trouble on their patrol that evening. A Villain—D-rank from the look of him—robbing a jewelry store. Presumably because he wasn’t creative enough to rob anything else.

“I thought those places kept fake jewels in the cases for exactly this,” Izuku says as he and Rumi run across rooftops after the Villain. He’s tall. Not as tall as All Might, but tall. He’s got some weird thing on his palms, like a smooth stone or something. Has to be Quirk related.

“Fuck, kit, I dunno,” Rumi says. “Why don’t you take this guy? You should be a match for him.”

“Understood.” Izuku picks up the pace. It doesn’t take him long to overtake the fleeing Villain. He springs around, whipping a kick towards the Villain’s chest just like Rumi taught him. An incapacitating strike. He holds back most of his strength. He doesn’t want to kill the guy by accident. But Miruko-Style Kickboxing was all about momentum.

Frankly, it’s less of a kick and more the Villain running into Izuku’s leg. It knocks the guy flat on his ass. In a flash, Izuku darts behind him and flips the Villain face-down into a submission hold.

“Shit!” the Villain grunts. “Mini Miruko!” Izuku smiles, all teeth.

“That’s me, asshole.” A beam of light erupts from the Villain’s hand, almost like Aoyama’s laser. But with the hold, he can’t aim it at Izuku and the beam shoots off into space. “Now that wasn’t very nice.”

“Good job, kit,” says Rumi, landing beside him.

After their post-patrol bath, Rumi goes out again after Stain. Izuku considers going to bed but that wasn't the case ever since he had that battle within his subconscious...The Being in way felt nothing but joy as it fought with Izuku and it irked the boy that the two fo them were at a stalemate mending ye couldn't figure out who this being was of what exactly it wanted from him...but his other thought went straight to Iida, his friend, the one who seems to likely have a death wish if he does something that will get him killed.

Todoroki Miyuki once again laments silently that her father was such a popular agency for fire-using Heroes. More accurately, she was… frustrated? Annoyed? Furious? Discontent that the best fire-using Hero in Japan just so happens to be her bastard of a father. Because it means that her internship just means spending even more time with the bastard.
