Amara Anne Gilbert grew up being a weird kid. Too mature for her age, the age she seemed to have, too quiet. Too smart.

While the other kids were playing outside, she was locked at home reading everything she could put her hands on.

Her parents, Miranda and Grayson, were worried about her behavior, comparing it with her older sister's behavior and her twin's. She was not like them, she was very different, despite having the same creation.

Basically, for the others she was strange.

Odd.

Anormal.

And in a small city, it counted. Much.

Especially in Mystic Falls.

So, she was just in the eyes of everyone in the city. Because how she was and the family she was in. A founder family.

Bless the sky she wasn't the doppelgänger...

But yet, being a member of a founder family. The Gilbert's.

Meanwhile, Amara knew why she was considered odd.

She was a reincarnation of a 25 old woman that was, originally (it all is so confusing), of a world where her family was fictional.

Her sister. Her mother. Her brother. Her dad. Heck, her city.

Everything was fictional. On another world.

But it was so real.

They were real and she was really here.

And being the doppelgänger's sister, basically the most required being of the supernatural world, she was in danger. Well, not now. But in the future, surely.

If not because Elena would grow up to be exactly like Katherine Pierce, it would be because her sister's blood was an important factor in a ritual that was very well known in the community.

Yet that 99% of the supernatural community thought that the said ritual was about vampires and werewolves, for them to finally be able to break the sun and moon curse.

It was really about werewolves and vampires, but not In the way that everybody thought it was.

Oh well, it was future Amara's problem.

She took more than she was ready to admit to put all the pieces together. But, be nice: she had the brain cells of a baby.

Do not talk about the predisposition to sleep.

And God, you know how frustrating it is to always be sleepy? To always feel tired?

The constant sleepiness, for sure, delayed her strategic planning.

But to continue, Amara was a grown woman, a woman with a diploma and that sustained herself until her early death.

So, it was frustrating to have to ask others about basic things, to ask for permission. It was frustrating to interact with kids and desire to be in the adults company, talking to equals.

Don't have to hide her own intellect, even if it was a poor cover up of her own intelligence.

If of course, she wasn't in the body of a little girl, it was in fact her body but, you understand.

Time passed with her planning and reading. It is until the early age of five years old.

Her 'to do' list was until that moment was lean, on her own standards, and subject for future changes. Without counting with the fact that the topics weren't in priority order, they were put in the order that she remembered of the events.

To do!

- Find and read the Gilbert's journals
- Show my own acknowledgment about vampires for mom and dad (Miranda knows it too?)
- Learn some type of fight (training with uncle John maybe?)
- Save Enzo!
- Be friends with Caroline and Bonnie
- Confident Care Mission
- Try to help Bonnie's mom (that means convince her to don't abandon her own daughter cause Bonnie don't deserve it)
- Stop Mikael (steal the white oak!!)
- Be friends with Rebekah (she's nice)
- Have a commercial relationship with the Mikaelsons and don't let them know who you are (relationship based in trust, Amara!)
- Daylight rings business? (Get a witch)
- SAVE ELENA!

_______

The 'be friends with Caroline' part was as easy as breathing, Amara just had to go outside and actually be around the kids around her age.

It was like a butterfly being attracted to the light, inevitable.

Amara was sitting alone under a tree reading one of the books she took from her family's library, Oliver Twist, while she was enjoying the end of noon sun and observed the other kids playing and running around when something covered the sunlight.

Looking up she realized that it wasn't something but someone.

Caroline Forbes.

Smiling internally, the reincarnated realized that Forbes was about to say something.

"Hey! I'm Caroline but you can call me Care. What are you reading?" The blonde asked in her happily bubbly way to the brunette, while she inclined for the sides to try to see the name of the book the other girl was reading.

Amara smiled brightly. "Oliver Twist. Do you want to read with me?"

The blonde girl thought for a minute before nodding and sat right next to the brunette "do you play with me after then?"

Gilbert chuckled softly while nodding, "sure!"

And that day beyond, Caroline Forbes and Amara Gilbert rarely were seen one without another.

That day beyond, they were inseparable.
