Darkness Is But A Part Of Us

CHAPTER TWO

(The events where Trunks got into the time machine and went to the past went as they happened in DBS)

Black stood in the air, sensing for Trunks's qi, but it felt as if it disappeared. He got frustrated that he could not detect his qi when he felt a ripple in the air. He concentrated on it, and he felt a time rip. He saw that the time ring was vibrating and smirked.

"So, Trunks, still committing sin after sin. Do you think going to the past can stop me. Well, you got another thing coming," Black said. He concentrated his qi on the time ring and felt the time rip open, and he flew in. 'Looks like it's time to see the sinners themselves' thought Black while smirking.

BACK AT THE PAST

Goku woke up feeling confused. He saw white walls and ceiling. He knew something had happened for him to be in the  hospital. The last thing he remembered was that he was having lunch while preventing an energy leak when he felt something and everything went blank.

He got out of bed and went outside to the lounge(they were at Bulma's). He saw that the others were there too. He smiled the usual smile but dropped it when he saw someone new but familiar. People were gathered around the older Trunks. He went there too, and he saw that Beerus and Whis were looking at him with a concerned look. He gave them one of his rare real smiles before looking at Trunks again.

He asked Bulma,"So,what happened?". Bulma replied to him, "We don't know. After you fainted, the time machine just appeared, and we found him like this. Do you think something happened?". "Well, yeah. If he came here looking like that, it means something big is going on," Vegeta replied. At that moment, Trunks began to wake up. He first saw him mother and asked in a hushed voice,"Mom?". He then turned his head and saw everyone, and then he saw him.

Trunks, led by instinct,took his sword and thrust it upon Goku's direction. Goku dodged the attack, and Vegeta mobilized Trunks. Trunks, after a moment, realized that the person in front of him is Goku, not Black. He calmed down and said,"Sorry there Goku. I thought you were somebody else." Goku said,"Yeah, I can see it, and no problem." Bulma asked,"So what is going on, Trunks?"

Trunks replied with his head down, like a man burdened by the weight of the whole world,"Things have been quite since the Androids were destroyed. But in recent months, we have been attacked by someone who looks a lot like Goku. He killed almost all the people on the planet. The last survivors are in Japan, hidden from Blank. Many people lost their lives in order for me to come back to the past. So I don't want to disappoint them. Goku was stunned. "So, wait. The world is currently being destroyed by someone who looks like me?" Goku asked, still in shock.

This made him think of the dark energy that has been developing inside him. Is it the one that will make him destroy the world? But,wait. Isn't Goku in the future dead because of a heart condition? So, how is this possible? Unless... "Yeah, before coming, we were having an intense battle, and I barely made it through. I already made sure that the survivors have food and basic needs to last them for a few months." Trunks replied, breaking Goku's thoughts.

He pushed them to the back of his mind so that he could analyze them carefully later. Whoever said that he was an idiot were the idiots themselves.  Goku does not say anything because 1) he doesn't like to brag and 2) nobody ever listened to his suggestions, so he stopped trying. If people thought that Gohan got his intelligence from Chi-Chi, then they must be dumber than he thought. He had been living in a mask his whole life because he wanted to satisfy the people of this planet so that they could accept him.

He had been doing this for so many years that he felt exhausted mentally, physically, and spiritually. The only beings that noticed his mask are Beerus and Whis, who only knew him for a short time. That's why in their company, he could be himself and drop his mask. They listened to him and took his suggestions seriously. They did not ignore him, and they treated him as their equal after seeing how much potential he had in him, and that's why he respected them.

They do not view him as a tool. They view him as a being as an equal. "You done a good job, now why don't you tell us about this duplicate Goku so that we know his weakness and..." Vegeta did not finish his sentence when there was a big ripple in the air and a portal opened and, out of it, came a man who looked exactly like Goku.
