V lands at the entrance to the base where the Admiral told her he'll be, taking note of the fact the whole place was built primarily out of wood, some of said wood being ship parts. The disassembly drone saw many humans, some wearing some kind of armour, carrying different weapons, working hard on their respective tasks.
Not a single worker drone in sight.
She could see winding stairs and a waterwheel powered series of chain pulleys serve to move people and supplies from one tier to the other quickly. The waterwheel was able to power these series of chains due to the base being built below a waterfall.
She strolled forward at the entrance of what she assumed was the common area, seeing it containing docks, supply caches, form of research 'offices' (really more of a massive pile of books), a growing tree and a meeting area, one where she saw the Admiral talking to another human, a man with grey hair, darker skin and scars on his face.
The other human, his posture strong and confident, one that V recognised as that of a leader because of J. But this man seems to hold respect towards his comrades, unlike J.
This must be the commander the Admiral was talking about, the one who runs the place.
She stepped foot into the base of operations and strides towards the Admiral and the commander.
This did not go unnoticed, however, as she saw the humans she walked passed stop whatever they're doing to look at her, multiple expressions on their faces.
Some confused, some curious, some in wonder, some intrigued, some shocked and others surprised to see a disassembly drone strolling down the common area.
She heard some humans whispering to one another but she ignored them as she continued towards the meeting area.
The Admiral and the commander's discussion came to a halt when they noticed the disassembly drone walking towards them. The commander eyed the drone with a curious glint while the Admiral grinned at her approach.
"Hey, you made it! And on time too, I like that. Welcome to Astera." The Admiral greeted cheerfully with his arms crossed.
"So this is the... 'disassembly drone' you ran into while investigating the Ancient Forest?" The commander asked as he examined V's physical appearance.
"Yeah, she says that her pals think she's passed on after she threw herself to the Zinogres. Says she'd woken up here after that with no clue on how she got here." The Admiral replied, recapping the conversation V had with him.
"My name is V and Yes, what he says is true; I did give up my life for their sake. Yet I woke up here, not having the faintest idea on what exactly happened to me. Your Admiral told me you people are very good at solving mysteries and that you might be able to figure out what exactly happened to me." V confirmed, the commander nodding in acknowledgement.
"I see. Well you did well taking up the Admiral's offer; we are capable of understanding the unknown, that is why we are known as the Research Commission."
"The... Research Commission..?"
"Yes, our job is to research the various wildlife found in the New World as well as solving mysteries and other things." The commander explained to the drone.
"We will help you with understanding your current predicament. But first, we need to understand what happened before you woke up here."
V grew hesitant about giving these people her backstory, considering she had just met these people.
However, neither held any form of hostile intent towards her. They seem to actually want to help her. Still though, giving from what she's seen...
"I'd... tell you but you wouldn't believe me." V told the two men. The commander scoffed at this.
