Demigods.

That is what I am. What you might be too.

It's depressing.

Your mortal parent falls in love(probably) with a god. They have you. Half human, mortal, and half divine, god.

Your mortal parent(probably) loves you. And your godly parent... that's a different story.

Life isn't much better. At a young age you see monsters, satyrs, usually just weird things in general. You get called crazy, because those things don't exist. Mortals are blind, and foolish.

Eventually you turn ten – eleven and your life becomes difficult. If you're lucky, a satyr will find you. If you're not... there's not a good chance you'll survive....

The satyr will bring you to camp. A bright place of heroes and training. You make friends. And during the school year, you hope and pray that you see them the next summer.

That camp is Camp Half-blood. It's in Long Island, New York. It's not far from my family's estate in New Jersey.

If you were my parents, you would say that this camp is nothing short of a miracle. Where my mother, Morticia, went during her adolescence. Where my stepfather, Gomez, wishes he went.

I'd say it's torture.

I've been going since I was four, as had my brothers. Only for the summer which was common amongst campers.

The drive is an hour long, it's torture as well. Between the love songs(Roy Orbison's In Dreams for one.) and my parents making out in front of me, I feel like opening the door and jumping

The family's butler, Lurch, drove; my brothers, Oberon and Lazarus, in the passenger seat. The car is a completely black Hearse, modified for two seats that face each other in the back.

My parents, after making out, looked at me.

"Darling, how long do you intend to give us the cold shoulder?"

I looked over my shoulder at Lurch, "Lurch, please remind my parents that I'm currently not speaking to them."

Lurch opened his mouth, then decided to not get into this. Gomez leaned forward to assuage me. "My little viper, Camp Half-blood will be good this year. I promise." Gomez looked over at Morticia, "Isn't that right, Tish?"

Morticia nodded, elegant in her every movement and looks, "Camp Half-blood is the perfect place for someone as powerful as you."

I rolled my eyes, "Why? Because it was the perfect place for you? I have no intention to follow in your footsteps, mother."

Morticia sighed, "I merely meant you'll be among peers who understand you. Maybe you'll make friends."

"Sarcasm is the only friend I need."

Gomez and Morticia looked at each other, getting utterly lost in each other. I looked away, disgusted.

"I suddenly feel nauseous, and not in a good way."

Morticia looked at me, smiling, couth yet soft, "Darling, we aren't the ones who got you expelled. The boy's family was going to file attempted murder charges. How would that look on your record?"
