  THE sun beamed on Lillian's skin as she laid on a towe, drying from the swim in the ocean she just had. She wore an emerald green bikini and black thin rimmed sunglasses on her face. The girl was laying next to Mason who sat in his blue swim trunks on the cooler Luke stored in his trunk.

He drank a cold beer staring at the girl tanning in a protective manner, Although he was friends with Luke — Mason began to notice he was a bit of creeper.

"So you and Javi?" Mason questioned raising a brow before watching the water now seeing Luke shredding waves on his yellow surfboard with a blue strip down the middle.

"you saw that huh...he just wanted to 'holla' at me...i don't even know what that means, not like Evie would let me get a grain of attention anyways. that's all for her." she sighed flatly and played with the sand innocently causing Mason to chuckle.

"Of course he's interested in you." He said under his breath but Lux caught it, she frowned not being able to tell if he was jealous or just protective.

"are we going to talk about the kiss... or should i say makeout." Lillian asked smiling a bit turning on her stomach now and Mason shook his head.

"That. wasn't smart." He said sipping his beer again and Lux frowned fixing her sunglasses.

"why...you kissed me Mason. you can't just. you can't just pull away now." The girl said being more brave than she had ever been, she refused to be a push over — not with Mason. 

"if Tracy or my mom finds out they're going to be pissed, your Tracy's friend and i- i don't want to ruin our friendship to." Mason nodded trying to convey his feelings in a mature way.

"But if it was Evie?" The younger asked and Mason just said quiet sipping his beer now. He thought she should know her and Evie are very different — he didn't care if Evie stayed around or not, but he couldn't lose Lux because he wasn't sure what he felt for her yet, but the way he felt around her was special.

"Look i'm not saying we can't kiss and hangout and sleep in the same bed, i'm just...saying we shouldn't tell anyone or make it official just yet," Mason said to Lux that made some sense. She couldn't even think of how to explain this whole mess to tracy yet.

"okay...but i'm not going to do girlfriend things without the title."

Lux said looking at him and he nodded. She was trying to act mature but lots of the stuff she was saying she had only read in her moms magazines. "so want to go for ice cream?" he asked biting his lip trying to change the topic to a happier one.

"yes pleaseee," she got up putting her flip flops on, moving her sun glasses up so they held back her hair going with him ice-cream. "LUKE! you coming?" Mason asked and he nodded coming running out from the water holding his surf board. Mason looked at lux and smiled. "Make sure you keep your distance from him...he's a bit of creep" Mason whispered before looking over to Luke who inched closer.

"Yeah, Yeah." He said looking Lux up and down as he walked up to them.  They headed to the ice-cream stand where Lux got mint chocolate chip and Mason just plain vanilla, Whilst Luke got chocolate.

Luke eyed the girl as she licked her refreshing ice cream and giggled when it dripped down her chin. "My god...it just keeps melting so annoying." Lux complain and Luke grinned looking at Mason.

"How old are you again?" Luke questioned and the girl just rolled her eyes. "Almost thirteen," She said innocently and Luke just laughed. "no way...you look so much older." He said wrapping his hand around her waist and she blushed.

"Really?" Lux said and before he could answer Mason interrupted. "Cut it out Luke." He said sternly and Luke just chuckled moving away from the girl and backing off. They hung out at the beach nearly until the sunset and decided they should get going.

The drive home was quiet and Mason occasionally looked back to the girl smoking in the back of car looking out the convertible window,

"i'll see you tomorrow mason..." Lux said quietly before getting out of the car as mason stared at her from afar. "Luke." She said dismissively before going to her own house for once since tracy was sleeping over at Evie's. Lux lived right in between Luke and Mason so it wasn't really a bother to drive her home. Once she got inside she changed into a big t- shirt and some underwear before hoping into bed and going to sleep.

The next morning Lux got dressed in a Maroon shirt Evie got her and some flair jeans paired with a studded belt. her style has developed quickly into nearly just like the girls as school. She walked out of the house seeing Evie and Tracy on the front lawn with a blanket out. Evie was laying down reading a magazine listening to the CD player they had outside with them.

"Hey Luxx, where have you been?" Tracy asked the girl who walked over sitting on the blanket. "sleeping, i was shredding waves yesterday," She said mostly jokingly before seeing Luke speed past and Evie's head turn to look at the car. "Who's that?" Evie asked and Tracy smiled rubbing sunscreen on Evie's back around the scar that Lux noticed as well.

"Luke, or life guard boy...Parents moved and left him the house. " Tracy said and Evie immediately got up Tracy following and now so did Lux, she wanted to have fun to and be whatever they were apart of. "Hey Luke! Got any beer?" Evie hollered over to him and the boy just grinned getting out of his now parked car.

"Luke you are so Lucky," Evie said as she walked into the spacious living room, And lux looking around seeing all the half empty alcohol bottles and ashtrays that were around. Luke had a huge game boy in his house that he played on ignoring Evie as she sipped her beer that he gave her.

"no seriously i want your house." She said before grabbing a bottle and pouring them all shots, Luke had gotten a six pack of beer already but that wasn't enough for Evie. Lux took a shot then chased with her beer while Tracy and Evie did it straight with no chase. Next thing Lux knew Evie and Luke were making on the sofa.

"you three are total jailbait..." Luke muttered before Evie pulled him back into a kiss. "Trace, come check out these white boy ghetto lips." Evie pulled away looking at Tracy giggling.

Tracy and Lux looked at each other knowing it was wrong but at the same couldn't look away. Lux grabbed a bottle of vodka and looked at Tracy. "i'm gonna...use the bathroom." took off leaving Tracy at Luke's house she couldn't stay there, not after what Mason has said about Luke, he was right.

Lux got to the freeland house going inside and seeing Mason sitting at the kitchen table eating a turkey sandwich. He looked over and smiled before looking at the bottle.

"Are you drunk? it's the middle of the day Lilli...where's tracy?" He said getting up leaving his half eaten sandwich on the plate. "i'm not drunk...! i've only drank a tinnny bit." Lux said waltzing to Masons bed room and he followed.

"Do you need to lay down? or some water? seriously Lilli...this isn't like you. where were you? and where is tracy?" Mason asked again watching the girl put the bottle down on his night stand.

"I'm whoever you want me to be Mason..." She wrapped her arms around his neck and looked away.

"Lux..." Before Mason could protest any further her lips connected with his connecting there lips gently.
