I hate going shopping, bane of my existence.
But I do enjoy looking pretty every now and then. Very rarely does the situation arise, but here I am in the dressing room, spinning and admiring this adorable grey dress. It's a little loose though, so my mom hands me the last dress of the day through the door.
She wanted to see every dress I tried on, but the only person to see all of them was Raymond, I sent him pictures of every dress I tried on, he mostly responded with a thumbs up but sometimes he would comment on the fit or the colour. A man of many words.
The last one I have to try on looks promising, it's green and looks small. When I tried it on it already fit perfectly, which was a good sign, but when I turned around in the mirror I almost gasped, it was adorable.
It had a flowy skirt and was fitted in the right places, it showed just enough cleavage to be tasteful.
This one Raymond has to wait to see in person. I texted him that I got the dress and came out to show my mom.
She obviously loved it, she has always loved me in green.I texted the football guy my address yesterday, turns out his name is Elliot.
I don't intend on getting to know him much more than this, I don't need to and I don't want to.
Now I'm simply waiting in the kitchen, watching my mom panic about me going on my first date and texting Raymond about the plan.
I'm oddly excited about this, I've never been on a date before and it may be with some asshole but I'm excited nonetheless.
I don't think I've ever dressed up this much willingly before, and it feels good. I feel confident. The doorbell rang. This is it. I walk over to the door, almost falling on my face on the way.
I've worn heels but never stilettos before today. When I opened the door there he was, I almost forgot how tall he was.
He checked me out and whistled in appreciation, I turned around and my mom gave me a thumbs up and a big smile.
She had never seen Raymond so I guess she assumed this was him.
I suddenly felt hands on my hips from behind and I jumped slightly
"You ready to go?" he whispered, his mouth right next to my ear. How is this man so confident?
"Yep let's go." I respond quickly, rushing him out the door, I definitely don't need him meeting my mom.
He grabs me by my waist and leads me to his expensive car, whoever gives their kid a car this fancy is insane. His car is probably more than my house.
He walked over to the driver's side, getting in and waiting for me.
When we were both buckled he drove off, DAMN this car is fast.
It was quite a terrifying ride, filled with him making vulgar comments and me regretting agreeing to this.
I just hope Raymond goes through with this, or else it will be a very long night.
When we got to the restaurant I did not see Raymond's car yet, that made me nervous so I chose a table next to the window so I could keep an eye on most of the parking lot.
Elliot seemed to take notice of me staring out the window a lot, so he caught my attention again by talking.
"You look hot tonight, where did you get that dress, cause damn," he said to me, eyes glued to my chest. Not surprising in the slightest.
"Oh I bought it yesterday" I responded, smiling nervously, he seemed distracted, by something much less innocent than looking out a window.
"So why did you-" he cut me off
"You're coming home with me tonight, correct?" and I got the answer to my question before I even asked it. I hesitated, confused about how I should even answer this when I didn't even plan on staying at this date.
Just when I was about to answer I saw Ray's car haphazardly parking in the corner of my eye, sighing and redirecting my attention back to my distracted date, I answered.
"I don't think so." I said softly, he didn't seem to hear me and kept talking. I looked to the entrance and saw Raymond talking to the host, then he looked at me and we made eye contact for a second.
He walks over confidently sliding into the booth next to me and puts his arm around me. Elliot seemed angry, finally snapped from his trance of staring at me.
"Get out of here goth freak," he said to Raymond, he was seething when he noticed Ray's arm around me.
"I'm good, have you ordered yet? I'm hungry" Ray said, picking up the menu and looking over it dramatically.
He leaned in very close to my ear, whispering nonsense to make Elliot mad, and it was definitely working.
If Elliot was a cartoon, he would have steam coming out of his ears by now, he looked close to punching Ray's lights out, not that he could.
Ray is tough, he can take a beating and I know that, so if Elliot really does get violent it won't be much of a problem.
As soon as Elliot starts talking again Ray takes my hand and just leads me out of the restaurant, this wasn't the exact plan, but it worked nonetheless.
Well, it worked till Elliot started following us outside.
Ray left me by his car and had a talk with Elliot far away enough that I couldn't hear.
I suddenly saw Elliot swing at him, Ray ducked just in time and started to walk off, followed by a very agitated Elliot.
Ray seemed unbothered by all the cursing and yelling till Elliot said something I didn't hear, then Ray turned around and swung at him fast, fast enough that if you blinked you would have missed it.
As Elliot recoiled, Ray ran over to me and opened the car door for me, rushing me inside and getting in quickly, starting to drive off before Elliot could follow.
He was laughing, and he had a bit of blood on his knuckles from Elliot's nose.
"Ray... did you really just do that?" I asked softly, looking over and seeing Ray smiling big as he drove.
"I think I did" he responded, he sounded so happy I just stayed silent. His car smells so nice, just like him, that deep woodsy smell without the cigarette undertone, much more pleasant.
"Are you ok? What happened in there?" he suddenly asked, glancing over at me but keeping his attention on the road.
"He was just being a creep, I'm fine. I should be worrying about you!" I say, grabbing his hand and wiping the blood off with my finger, looking for napkins in the glove box. I find one and wipe the rest of it off, giving him his hand back.
He thanked me and I looked over, finding him biting his lip slightly. Weird. When he dropped me off he mumbled something, I didn't hear what he said.
"Hm?"
"Nothing, see you Monday." he said, and I shrugged it off, smiling and walking inside my house, finding my mom reading on the couch, no surprise.
"You're home early, how did it go tell me everything!" she said, hopping up from the couch.
"Well it was definitely interesting"
