*Tyler's POV*

*June 18th*

*Steve's front yard 11:03 am*

A silver car pulls up and parks. A woman gets out.

"Hey! You must be Tyler."

"Yes ma'am."

"Where is the entire friend group?"

"They went to the skate park, and I said I would wait for Steve. Me and him are going to meet them there."

"He should be up. I'll go see."

"Okay."

I play a game on my phone while she unpacks her suitcase and goes into the house. Soon a man comes out with his suitcase and gets into a blue car. When he walked pasted me, I got a very bad vibe from him. Oh, that must be James. He drives off and soon after a few minutes Steve comes out.

"Hey Steve."

"Hi.. Tyler."

I take a look at him and realize his eyes are red and very watery.

"You okay?"

"Yeah I'm fine... Let's just go."

"Whatever you say."

We get on our skateboards and meet up with the group.

"Hey Steve!"

"Hey."

Something is wrong with him but what? I'm concerned. Maybe he's just tired and didn't want to come to the park today... Maybe his mom made him get up and he's tired. After half an hour past us, Brittanny pulls me to the side.

"Did you see anything when you were with Steve?"

"I saw his mom come home and his uncle leave."

"Damn. There's something so wrong."

"I knew I wasn't tripping. I thought he was just tired, and his mom made him get up but... I don't know something just isn't right."

"I'll try to talk to him."

We both look over and see that he has distanced himself from the group.

"Good luck Brittanny."

*Brittanny's POV*

I hope he isn't mad at me. I just want to know what is wrong.

"Steve are you okay? Are you tired?"

"Yeah I am... But I don't want to ruin anything."

"Steve if you need sleep, it's okay. Your self-care matters more than anything."

"If you say so... I'll head home."

"Do you want me to come with?"

"I'll go solo."

He gets on his board and leaves. Something is very wrong. Tyler then comes over to me.

"So?"

"He said that he was tired, and he didn't want to ruin the mood."

"Do you believe him?"

"No. I can't say it's anything else though."

"Look... I got a bad vibe from his uncle when he walked past me. He's also kind of creepy."

"James did not do anything to Steve."

"Have you ever seen Steve like this? Since you known him longer."

"I haven't... He's always cheered and him being tired isn't really a thing.. The man doesn't even get headaches."

"I mean come on... He's so cheery and happy and all a sudden his uncle comes, and leaves and this nigga is emo as hell."
