After running the errands I needed to, I decided to go pick Lauren up early. I wasn't planning on picking her up until about 2, but I was hungry and wanted to grab her to go get food somewhere.
I pulled up to her house and texted her.
"Hey I came a little early, come out and get in, I want food." I sent the message.
She read it within a few moments and responded fairly quickly, "Alright give me a moment. Let me find my shoes." She responded.
I read it and just scrolled through my news feed to see if there was anything interesting while waiting for her.
After maybe 10 or 15 minutes, Lauren came out and got in the car.
"Okay where are we going for food?" She asked.
"Wherever is fine with me. I was thinking of doing Panda Express or Chipotle, something simple but actually enjoyable to eat." I said starting the car and pulling away from her house.
She thought for a moment, "I haven't had Panda Express in awhile. I had Chipotle a few nights ago. So Panda." She said with a smile.
"Panda it is." I replied driving to the nearest Panda Express.
We decided to just do the drive-thru and take it back to my house. I had to get ready and get everything out of my car. We ordered our food and drove back to my house but then I remembered something.
"Hey Laurs?" I asked
"What's up Ell?" She looked up from her phone and looked at me for a short moment before looking back down at her phone.
"Do you still like my brother, Luke?" I asked with a small grin.
She paused and then responded with a small stutter, "Uh.. why.. Why do you ask..?" She couldn't find a way to respond without feeling as if she was walking into a trap with me.
I smiled innocently, "Just wondering, whenever you come over it is the same thing over and over with you. He tries to talk to you and you just can never find a way to respond without losing your mind." I said.
She sighed, "Yes, I do, but we don't talk about it around him, Okay?" She asked, pleading that I don't tell Luke.
"Fine, but if you don't say something soon then I will." I smiled, grabbing my drink and taking a sip.
She nodded and went back to scrolling her instagram.
I continued to drive for 15 minutes before pulling into my driveway and getting out of the car. Lauren got out and grabbed the food and we both went inside. We went past everyone downstairs and went straight upstairs into my room so we could eat and I could change out of my clothes and into something nicer.
We laughed, talked and ate while Lauren did her college work on my laptop and I chose something to wear.
"So why is your brother dragging you out tonight?" Lauren turned in her work and turned around to face me.
"I honestly think he just doesn't trust any of us alone with each other anymore, when he is the one who left for 5 years and we were all fine till he got back." I responded, grabbing a shirt and a nice pair of jeans. "These?" I asked.
Lauren looked at the two things I chose and shook her head. "Keep the jeans, find a nicer shirt." She said.
I sighed and went to find a nicer shirt when I pulled out a nicer black shirt.
I showed it to her and she nodded, "Perfect." She smiled.
"I swear you are going to be the death of me one day." I said walking into my bathroom to change and fix my braid into a double braid.
"Yet you chose me to be your best friend!" She smiled innocently as I came back out of the bathroom.
I rolled my eyes and looked at the time. "Well it is almost time to go so you better do whatever you please in my closet and look semi-decent. Not in a tank top." I remarked at her clothing.
She nodded and got up to go look through my clothes. When she came back out she had what looked to be a pale yellow dress and a pair of my nice sandals. She goes to change in the bathroom and comes out in those clothes.
"That works." I said.
"Good, now let's go downstairs and wait for your brother." She said walking out of the room.
I followed her close behind, closing my bedroom door behind me.
We go downstairs and wait for my brother to come downstairs so we can get going.
*Note: Here is chapter 2. Chapter 2 will either be released today or tomorrow I am not entirely sure. We will see how the day goes. Hope you all are having a good day or night!*
