Gotham General

I sat on the examination table as the doctor finished stitching up my wounds, a wound resulted from the shot that missed me as the hostage taker fired in my direction when I stepped out to the balcony. The bullet barely grazed past my arm, resulting in a cut in which blood trickled down from the wound. The hostage taker was alive, but with a lot of broken bones, as the blur of black who saved me managed to snag him with a grapnel line but it didn't do so much as to slow his fall. Snipers have been posted on the neighbouring rooftops, some of which I witnessed Bruce meeting up with Selina after we discussed the case files with Commissioner Gordon in my capacity as an FBI agent before my 'early retirement'.

The doctor snipped the suture, finishing the stitching and dropping them into a tray nearby. "You're lucky to get out of there alive madam." he said. "It was a frightening experience."

"I know doctor." I say. The doctor soon pulled the curtains aside, revealing not my parents, but Bruce, standing outside. The medical professional gave him a polite nod and stepped aside for him and left to tend to his other duties. Once the doctor left Bruce held my hand in his as we exchanged gazes.

"How are you?" we asked at the same time. I blushed in response while Bruce glanced at the newly stitched wound on my arm.

Wayne Manor

I sat in bed, holding our newborn baby girl in my arms while Bruce took a shower before bed. Our little girl, Amelia, was sleeping in the cradle she shared with her twin brother Matthew when I went out as a negotiator for the hostage situation. Amelia was born first, and Matthew arrived four minutes later. When we returned Amelia was crying for her mother's warm embrace and I held her while Bruce took the shower. The man himself emerged, going shirtless for a change as I placed Amelia back into the cradle. Climbing into bed Bruce held me close, while I felt the warmth of his body on my own. "Why did you go there?" he asked me, his brows knitting.

"The commissioner said you might make the situation grow worse." I say. "And I had FBI training."

"That's stupid." Bruce said. "I put on the suit as soon as I saw the news."

"I know, I haven't said my thanks." I say.

"I love you Isa." Bruce whispered. "Don't ever try to risk your life in situations like this, ever again." We kissed, as he turned off the light with one hand.

I woke up the next day, still wrapped in Bruce's arm, with his hand on my abdomen as I was lying on my back when I woke up. Bruce also woke up and leaned in for a brief kiss, just as either Amelia or Matthew woke up from their sleep. I gently pushed Bruce aside and got out of bed to get the children while he sat in bed. Matthew was the one who had woken up and continued to yawn while I held him in my arms. Bruce ran a hand against Matthew's back as he lay on my chest, a smile on his face. I held Matthew's little hand in mine as he slept in my arms.

Bruce walked down the stairs later on, wearing a dark-coloured suit while I was getting ready for work. Amelia and Matthew are coming with me for the day while the other children had their pick on either spending their time either with me or Bruce for the day. Our older children had already begun school, with Vicky in elementary school and Harald beginning kindergarten only our triplets and Robbie are now left at home, with Amelia and Matthew too. "I'll take you to work today." he said. "Since where you work is quite close compared to mine."

"Today's my first day, can't hope to be fashionably late." I say.

Gotham City

The city remained unchanged since last night's event, but the police have returned to regular patrolling and the roadblocks dismantled. Bruce turned the vehicle down the road into the district where we both worked. A sleek office building was at the left-hand side of the road, with bold and highly trimmed word font. Dom and Gerry approached me with the idea of establishing a consulting firm business, given that Dom and I have been working in DC for a while now. I agreed to the idea, as even though I have left DC behind my experience in dealing with certain issues is still in high demand, which contributes to my decision to accept. "Here's my stop." I say, getting ready to disembark from the car. Bruce pulled the car up to the road curb and killed the engine.

"Let me help you." he said.
