A young adult stared at the remains of what seemed to be the former base, staring deeply and sighing with tears flowing down his eyes.

Behind him was enough supplies and money for him to life for half a year, and beside him was a massive sword almost as big as his body.

He sobbed, and then he sniffed, and then he seethed in sadness.

"Why must this happen.... What kind of mage is he?! Why am I the only one left from the Band of the Silver Falcons! Why me!?" He cried out loud to the sky, before keeling over to the ground.

And then he sighed, maybe there is still a way.

The Goddess Reborn, Celestine is kind to all, right? Maybe she can smite whoever attacked their growing band!

Reluctantly he smiled, cupping his hands together, and making a prayer towards her.

"Oh Goddess Laurentia, lend me your help, guide me on my right path! You're the kindest goddess, right? So please, help me fight against.... That man!" He prayed out, but no matter how much he tried.

He failed.

Another prayer was done.

And another prayer had been rejected through silence.

Until he heard a voice in his head, a very youthful, girlish one.

{Who are you? Leave me alone, I have other things to do.}

A harsh, vocal rejection silenced him. It made him feel very flabbergasted, and even so he felt quite pissed off.

"Is this the true color of the goddess? Just.... Someone who doesn't care?"

As if he realized this, he brought himself to stick with this realization, punching the ground with his own fist.

For a while he was alone, and for the next hour of crying he stood from the ground, feeling tired from that.

Then, he thought about a dream he and many of the band he joined in was.

To him, and many of the men in this world, it was bliss waiting to arrive. But to those with common sense, it was deranged and downright disgusting.

"I see how it is now. Hey boss, I'll bring your dream to fruition. I'll build a world where all women are under us superior men, where they will serve men without question! Damn it, damn you whoever made me lose so much!"

His voice turned into that of a resolute man, and clenching his fists harsh enough to whiten them, his eyes became filled with conviction.

"I'll avenge you, my brothers. While that is happening, I shall rise."

He picked up his massive bag and sword, then immediately left the area.

Along the way, he encountered a massive black hound that almost took his life unless he fought back with an equal fierceness, before chugging down a potion that healed his wounds and cures the poison that possibly dug into his body.

"A black hound, huh.... I see, then I'll name my future band of mercenaries after this hound. Fierce and wild, nobody will get in our way, even him."

"And I, Vult, promises that we will overthrow Celestine from her position."
