Joel loved his fiancée. He really did. But somehow, he kinda stopped a few years ago. She changed and they no longer wanted the same things in life. And as a last hope, they decided to get married, because they got together in high school and didn't want to give up their relationship. They wanted to do this for their daughter.

And that's how he met you. You worked for your aunt's company. She was an event planner, specializing in weddings. You liked the job - of course it was stressful sometimes - but the gratitude of the customers, how in love and happy they were, made you happy too.

And when you sat in your office at lunchtime and checked some bills, your aunt called you.

"Hi Bridget," you greeted her happily over the phone.

"Hello dear! I don't have much time to talk right now, but I have an appointment with a new couple in about half an hour. But I can't make it to the office, Luca is throwing up all over the house again," she explained with a sigh.

You chuckled softly, "Did he drink milk again?" you asked your aunt. Because you knew your eight year old nephew well enough. He was lactose intolerant, but never gave up dairy products.

She sighed, "Actually it was Ice cream but whatever... Can you take over the appointment?"

"Yeah sure, don't worry about it," you told her and she let out a relieved breath.

"Thank you dear! I'll be back in the office tomorrow, okay? I'll talk to you later."

"Okay sure. And make sure Luca gets better," you replied with a grin.

"Of course... And thanks again, I see you tomorrow."

"Yeah, bye," you said and ended the call.

Half an hour later the new couple arrived at the office on time. You greeted them both politely and led them to the couch. But before you could start talking, the woman across from you started speaking.

"Thanks again for the spontaneous appointment! I won't take that long, as I already thought about the most important things"

You grabbed a notebook and pen and looked at her with a polite smile, "Sure, just tell me what you like and I'll start planning"

The woman leaned back on the couch and took her fiancé's hand, "Well, I would like to get married this year. I don't wanna wait any longer. And I would like to have a pretty big wedding with a lot of guests. That's kinda a thing in my family, you know?"

As Joel's fiancée talked about all the things she wanted for the wedding, his gaze was fixed on you. Quickly and messily, you wrote down everything she told you. He felt sorry for you. Joel was so glad that he didn't have to do the planning himself, because he had a hard time keeping up with the chaotic demands of his fiancée.

"I want there to be delicious food and expensive champagne. And no kids. And I need a big dress and red flowers everywhere," she continued.

You decided to interrupt her, "Sorry Miss, uhm, I would need your preferred month and how much budget you have?"

She looked over to Joel again, and he told you the budget as you wrote it down. It wasn't a lot, but it wasn't that bad either.

"Okay, and which month?" you then asked.
