"What?! "
Dara stared eye-wide at Ada as she dropped the bomb.
"Tell me you are joking" She said as ada shook her head.
The name that was a taboo in her family. An intense feeling burst through her vein.
How dare they?
What were they doing?"I think the school knows not to allow them here. Don't worry. " Ada assured her.
"What do they want? " She asked no one in particular. "Do they know we are in this school? " She added vibrating with anger.
"Dara, you better calm down. Who doesn't know in the whole of ikeja that your family feud has been ages ago. I am sure they won't be accepted. " Ada assured her again.
Just then Ayo came rushing at her.
"Aunti mi! Did you hear? " Ayo asked.
"Yes, i did! " She answered.
"Are we going to tell mummy? " He asked.
"No, not now! Let's wait and see how this will unfold. I hope the principal will not be making any mistakes. " She said as she walked to her class. Everyone knew not to say anything.
Ayo went back to his class, and so did Ada.
Femi
"What do you mean? " Mrs Ade-cole barked at the poor principal.
"Yes! The obalolas were already in this school"
"Yeh! So despite the huge amount of money us donated to the school, you did not tell us, abi? " Mrs Ade-cole said standing akimbo.
She was vibrating with anger.
"The board decided not be in the middle of the family feud. " He said.
"Oh! Oh! You did not say that when you collected 10 million naira from us. " She said.
"We are sorry ma'am! We will come to an agreement. " He said.
"I am not coming to any agreement. The obalola has to be expelled. "
"We will see what we can do about it, but one of them is already in SS3 already. "
"I don't care. So gbo! I don't care. " She said as she threw him a spear gaze.
"Okay! I will get back to you. Let me enroll femi first. "
"Enrollment ko, convocation nhi. My son will not sit in the same class as those bas***ds." She said.
"We can set them apart for today, by tomorrow. We will come to an agreement. "
"You better! "
"Femi! " Femi heard his mother called him. He had been listening to the two. Although it irked him that the obalola kids were here but he seems to enjoy the anger radiating from hos mother who likes to be in control.
He entered the principal office and sat down on a chair, after the necessary procedure. Rhe principal stood up to show him to his class,
"You better have a good talk on that stupid agreement you said before today. " She said as she walked to her car where the driver was waiting for her.
The principal blew a deep breath. Femi knew his mother's dominating aura that almost none could stand except him.
"Femi, you have heard your mother. I don't want any problem. " The principal saud as femi threw him an annoyed glance.
"Yes." He said as he asked a teacher to show him towards his class.
"Owu ti iya gbon lomo o ran" The principal whispered. "Like mother, like son. "
Femi was shown to his class and as he stepped into the class, he could hear few gasps and whispers, a teacher aas already in the class. A maths teacher.
His eyes searched around the class, and land on a girl whose eyes shows intense fury and loathing. Time freeze as he saw they were staring at him as if challenging him to a eye contest. He smirked as he felt his own anger boiling, disdain tasting in his own tongue as he flicked his eyes away from her.
He was not ready for a childish eye contest.
"This is luke Ade-cole oluwafemi" The teacher said.
The class was silent as eye darted from Dara to femi.
"Femi, you can make use of the third seat at tge third line. " The maths teacher said as he point to the empty desk.
At first, the class was silent but soon enough it went a little normal but everyone knew that throughout the session, the class will never be the same again.
After school closed, dara was in a bad mood throughout the day. Even while walking home with ayo and ada, the air wad stressed, even ada did not make any effort to help matter, sge knew it will backfire. They took their normal bus and dropped at their bus-stop.
Entering the house, dara dropped her bag on the couch. She met their elder sister with popcorn watching animation movie. Wunmi and dara had different taste in movie, while wunmi loves animation and american movie. Dara loves korean and chinese movie.
"Wetin happen? Make you do face like pein way chop child vomit. " Wunmi said.
"Aunty wunmi" Even naughty ayo had a bad mood.
"Haba! Nothing can be that bad. The worst thing is crossing part with them. " Wunmi said jokingly.
Mentioning the Ade-cole was even taboo.
"Irony of the world! " Dara sighed in frustration.
"Kilo sele? " Wunmi asked seriously.
"They came to our school to register femi. " Ayo said.
"What?! " Wunmi exclaimed shocked. "This is an expensive joke and you, too know it. " She added.
"Did we look like we will be joking with that kind thing? " Dara said annoyed.
"Have mummy know? " Wunmi asked.
"No! I don't think so. It is only with the matter if time befote she gets to get wind of it. " Dara said.
"This is the worst day of my life. What is today's date? Monday, abi. "Wunmi said. " I am not always lucky on mondays. "She added.
Although they were stressed but wunmi lit up the atmosphere before their mother came in the evening.
They did not know how to break the news to her, so none of them could not say anything before they all went to bed.
