"My l-love" Izuku cries into his hands out of pure joy.
"God, I missed you...why didn't you tell me...?" Katsuki immediately asks.
"H-huh...?" Izuku wonders.
"That you were immortal... I've been waiting 500 years for you to join me up here..." Katsuki's face shows genuine hurt.
"I-..." Izuku is stumped. "I never... I never wanted to think I'd lose you and have to stay here all alone..." he answers. "You were my everything... but I'm not just an immortal..."
"What? What haven't you told me..."
"Remember how our home kingdom taught you about the kingdom of the sun and moon? And how it fell and who they worship, and etc.?"
"Yeah of course, they worshiped the sun god and the moon god- oh my- you're a God" he realizes, finally understanding everything.
"I am. I'm Tsukuyomi." The first full truth Izuku told all day.
Katsuki is silent for a moment... "then you could've come see me..." Katsuki assumes.
"No, I couldn't. I lost all connection to the realms when I decided to come to earth." He explains, fixing Katsuki's assumption.
The Image nods, understanding... mostly. He then shakes his head. "I don't care anymore, I'm just glad I can talk to you again" he says with a smile while Izuku wipes his tears away.
"Y-yeah..." he olds the palms of his hands on his eyes for a moment.
"I wish I could kiss you, Izuku"
"I'd do a lot more than kiss you if you were here..." he smiles softly and sniffles a bit.
"Oh really?" Katsuki asks, returning the smile.
Izuku just nods. Izuku doesn't have the heart to be sexual in such a special moment.
"I have something important to tell you though" Katsuki gets serious.
"What is it?" Izuku asks with a tilt of his head.
"I'm in that new Katsuki. Wake. Him. Up"
"H-how do I do that?"
"Tell him the truth. Who he is, what he's on earth for, my soul will finally be able to take control again."
"I will..." the fire starts turning back to orange "wait-!" Katsuki's image is fading away. "Don't leave me yet!" He starts to tear up again.
"I'll see you soon, my love" his voice is distant... "I lov-" the whole fire is back to orange, along with the candles surrounding it.
"I l-love you too..." of course Izuku knew what he was going to say. But even so... tears start to run down his face again... he says as he reluctantly lifts a good 3 gallons of water from the river to dump onto the fire. I should train my power a bit... I'm a good thousand years rusty... heh- he turns to the river and stares at the water, but nothing is happening. I mean... that makes sense, he isn't trying to do anything to it, just looking.
He holds out his arms with his hands wide open.
"I am darkness... beauty... water... space.... Stars... I'm the controller of the night." Izuku tells himself as his hands start swaying along with the water, which makes small waves going up and down the river. As he does this he realizes the area around him gets darker and he starts to glow as he becomes somewhat taller... his divine form is showing."Tsukiyomiiiiii" someone whines "it's been hundreds of yearsssss" they continue.
Izuku turns to see his light part slip out of him and into his own being.
"Hikari, be quiet would you? Someone is sleeping in the tent" Izuku tells him. The smaller boy looks at Izuku "oh fineee" he looks around "wait where's Kurai?" Hikari looks around frantically, when he notices the midnight-black-skinned profile attached to Izuku's left side. "oh my God!" He yells surprised.
"C'mon, get out of there," Izuku urges on the (very clearly) introvert attached to his being.
"No..." Kurai mumbles.
"Either come in or go out" Izuku says a bit more sternly.
"... Fine" the night-looking being splits from Izuku's making Kurai his own person. "So... what are we doing out...?" Kurai asks.
"remember shit face?" izuku asks with a straight face. "The one we fought 5 hundred years ago?"
"The one that almost turned the whole kingdom to stone?" Hikari answers with another question.
"Mhm" Izuku confirms.
"Yeah I remember," Hikari says.
"I do too," Kurai adds.
"We didn't kill him. Yesterday, I went to my shop and it was completely trashed and all my sculptures of Katsuki that I made were shattered to crumbs and dust, except for the real Katsuki." He explains to the two.
"You're still obsessed with that guy?" Kurai asks, looking up at the stars.
"Yes, he's the love of my life." Izuku then changes his tone to a whisper. "He came back to me..."
"No way..." Hikari looks at Izuku wide-eyed. "Is that who is in the tent?" He realizes.
"Yeah, Katsuki is in the tent... But he doesn't know he is Katsuki"
Hikari gives him a confused look "does he not remember you?"
"No, Katsuki's soul needs to be awakened, which means we need to tell him about his old life... with me..." he says.
"That makes totallllll sense" Kurai says, not understanding anything.
Izuku sighs and shakes his head. "Anyway, we are rusty and need to practice using our powers again."
"Yes sir" Hikari says with an eye roll.
"Dont sas me, Hikari" Izuku's words come out more as a command than a joke.
"Yeah. what he said" Kurai says in the opposite way of Izuku.
Hikari rolls his eyes again..
