I jolted awake. I look around my eyes adjusting to the light. I'm still at my flat, Still in my chair. I rub my eyes. I look at my watch, 11:52. l slept for almost twelve hours. I took too many pills. I was stressed. It's not my fault, Right?  I sigh and get up. I grab a glass and turn on the faucet until the water gets cold. I fill up my glass and sit down at the island. I take a couple sips and stare forward. My leg feels better, My mind is in less chaos and I just feel better. I guess the so called sleep helped. Wait, Didn't that girl, Sam, say that in a couple days the "war" would happen? Shit. I haven't even told Nancy what's happening. I need to talk to Nancy. I need to at least tell her what's happening. I need it to be midnight again. I get up and chug the rest of my water before putting the glass in the sink. I grab my jacket and my phone, I check for the two notes in my pocket and my pen. Still there. I put my phone in my jacket pocket and walked outside. I call a cab and get in. I tell it to go to a restaurant and after a while of me just looking out the window we arrive. I get out and pay the driver before walking into the restaurant. I sit down at the seat at the bar and order a drink. I put my cash on the table and the bartender gave me a drink. I take a couple big sips. I pull out the notes and put them beside each other. The one with my information on the left and the one Nancy wrote on the right. I put my pen beside them and stared at them. I hear the regular chatters of people talking with their friends.  I can smell the food that's cooking but my mind is blank. I can't think of anything to do. I can't do anything about this. I groan and take another large sip of my beer. Good job Holmes, Drinking your sorrows away like a drunk. You have to notify Nancy, You have to do something. You have- A sound.  I look up. Just another person. I sigh. I need to calm down. I need to keep calm. I take some deep breaths. They are not helping at all. Nothing is helping. I take the last chug of my beer and walk out. I already paid so I don't have to worry. I walk down the road and spot a cab. I call it over and get in. "Baker-" I pause. "Train station" I say. The driver nods and I give him some cash. He starts driving. I look out. It's a calm day outside, The complete opposite to how I feel. Then there are sirens. A police car passes us and then another and another. At least ten police cars pass us. I look forward. The police cars keep speeding down the street with their loud sirens. Towards the station. "Get to the station as fast as you can" I say to the driver. He nods but he seems unsure. "I'll try my best" The driver says before turning down some unknown streets. We drive quickly since there are no police officers or people. After two minutes the driver stops at the station. "Here we are" the driver says. I give the driver ten euros and get out of the car. He drives away and i'm running down to the poorer part of the city. I got here before the police. I can hear their sirens coming closer but they are not here yet. I run to the convenience store and rush in. I look around and then go to the cashier. "I need to know if a woman wearing a hoodie has come in here today" I say. The cashier, a black man who looks to be twenty with a magazine just looks at me. "Sorry man. Can't tell you that. Gotta keep my customers privacy" he says. "I wasn't asking" I reply. The man just rolls his eyes. I grab his magazine out of his hands. "Did she or did she not come into this shop" I say calmly. The man looks annoyed. "Look man, Unless you got proof your not an officer, You better just leave." he says. "There are at least ten police cars coming into this town right now. That woman is in grave danger and I need to know where she is so I can keep her from going to prison." I answer. He pauses. "Ten?" He says. I nod. He sighs. "She bought a slushie and then a gun" he says. I must look surprised because he says "I got to make money in some way".  I brush away my concern. "Do you know where she is going?" I ask. "She rushed out the back door a couple minutes ago. If you fast you might be able to catch up with her." he says. I nod and thank him before I run out the back door. I look around and see a ladder up. The sirens are getting closer. I need to find her before they do. I climb up and am now on a roof. I look around. No one. But there are some footprints in the metal of the roof. There not obvious but there clear. They are going from on roof to another. Shit. She could have gone anywhere. I take a deep breath. I take off my jacket and leave it on the roof. I sigh. Here we go.

I jump.
