Back Hugs

Back hugs had always been the ultimate love sign to make your knees go weak and sigh in happiness.

So, it wasn't unexpected when your two-month boyfriend, the Bucky Barnes, back-hugged you, which made you sigh and leave the unwashed dishes on the sink before the both of you headed to your bedroom, cuddling and having a Disney marathon.

He didn't take notice of this until a few months later when he back-hugged you while you went grocery shopping for the team.

You were pushing the cart, and, out of nowhere, he wrapped his arms around your waist. You smiled like an idiot when he did so. He was about to pull away, but you wrapped your arms around his own.

"Don't let go," you whined, giving him your best puppy eyes.

He couldn't help but chuckle before placing a kiss full of love on your neck. You walked around the aisles like that.

Whenever you had to pick something too high for you, your oh-so-gentleman of a boyfriend would raise his arm and pick it up for you. You'd always take no time to thank him with a kiss on his jaw.

Just until you were with the cashier, you'd, reluctantly, accepted he had to let go, since he had to reach for Stark's credit card.

Not so many days later, something similar happened. After every guest of Tony's party had left, the only people left were the Avengers. Bucky sat on the couch while you brought him a drink. When you reached to sit beside him, he, instead, took your waist and pulled you to his lap, hugging you tightly.

Bucky took his drink from your hand and drank it in no time. He noticed your head starting to fall from tiredness, so he just pushed it backward for it to be resting on his shoulder.

"Seems like your princess is drowsy, tin man", Stark mocked, earning a single scoff from Bucky.

Minutes later, he heard your cute, little snores at which he just smiled. Calling it a day, he took off with you in his arms.

After changing up, Bucky rested with you on his bare chest. His hand left hand rested lazily around your waist while the other one caressed your cheek as he sloppily placed kisses on your face a few now and then.

"Doll" he spoke, breaking the comfortable silence.

"Hmm?"

"I have to ask you something" When he felt your head move in a nod against his chest, he continued "Why are you always so clingy whenever I back-hug you?"

You opened your eyes ever so slightly before answering, "I don't know, I think that it's because it reminds me of my brother, that's how he used to show me his affection"

Your brother, you barely ever talked about him. He had died in a car crash with your parents, while they were driving to pick you up from a hang-out with friends.

You were left only with your aunt and uncle who treated you so shitty, partially that was why you had signed up to be a part of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s new recruits.

Due to your rapid learning skills and magnificent development on the field, and not to mention the great use of katanas -or anything related to them, really-, you were assigned with the Avengers.

That was when you met Bucky. As soon as his mesmerizing baby blue eyes pierced yours, you knew you wouldn't be getting out of that one.

B

ucky had turned to be...

"You turned out to be my comfort person, and I love you"

The last three words weren't meant to leave your mouth at all, but they lingered in the air. Until Bucky, quite messily due to tiredness, reached for your lips and kissed you lovingly.

"I love you, too. I'll continue being your comfort person if you let me"

He had no idea how much you loved him.

You smiled tearfully, "Of course, I love you so freaking much, Mr. Barnes"

Comfort and love. That's something neither of you thought would be able to find again, but you did so.

For the rest of his life, Bucky never let you down a single time, and, of course, gave you all the back hugs you ever wanted.
