Amelia, what are we?!" Lisa questioned, her voice laced with uncertainty.
"I thought I was your best friend" she added, expressing a mix of confusion and hurt.
Over the phone, Amelia prompted Lisa to speak, and the pain in her voice was unmistakable. Amelia could feel the hurt exuding from Lisa's words, a somber tone that echoed through the conversation.
" I-"
Amelia was on the verge of speaking when Lisa abruptly cut her off, exclaiming
"YOU REALLY GOT YOURSELF A HOT MAN! OH JESUS."
"HE IS HELLA HOT! OH MY AMAZING GOD" Lisa exclaimed, expressing her enthusiastic admiration.
"Wait, Lisa, I thought you were mad at me seconds ago"Amelia said.
"Yes, I was mad at you. That was because I was never aware you had a boyfriend" Lisa confessed, her tone a mix of surprise and realization.
"You're sick, Lisa. He is not my boyfriend. And you didn't even see him how did you know he's hot? Come on," she said, expressing disappointment in her friend's assumption.
"Your photos were photoshopped, I think. Because this isn't a pre-wedding picture" Lisa said while laughing hard.
"And I think I know him. He looks so familiar"
She said trying to remember where she saw him.
"Now tell me what happened, huh? I left you just a few weeks ago, how'd-"
Lisa began speaking, but her words were interrupted by the sound of Amelia crying through the phone.
"Lisa, I'm tired. I'm tired of everything," Amelia said, her voice choked with sobs.
Amelia began to pour her heart out to Lisa, tears streaming down her face. As they both shared the pain, their conversation ended with the sound of mutual sobs. In a comforting tone, Lisa reassured Amelia, "Everything will be alright, amelia"
"Your wedding must be perfect love!."
Lisa said positively, trying to boost her friend's spirits.
She broke the silence again
"You know something, you should be grateful he invited people you know. At least, even if it's a contract marriage, you have to be happy.
" I'm coming in tomorrow morning with a makeup artist I know, you'll look like an angel I promise you." she reassured.

"I've been wondering tho, how did you know?" she asked.
"Oh well, I got a text, and almost everyone who knew you got the message," Lisa shared.
"It was sent with your phone." As Lisa disclosed this information, Amelia began frantically searching for her phone, which seemed to elude her.
"Dammit ahh," she cussed, surprised. "And who else do you think knows about this?!" Amelia asked "
"Well, I think everyone on your contact list, Anna, also called me."
"Anna, that...bitch, you can't believe how she was nagging and cursing, asking me where you knew him. As if he was her boyfriend or something. She was so mad."
"Ahh!" Lisa exclaimed.
"I think I know him. He's name is Keith, right? The Fountains Company's Keith, oh my God!". Lisa sounded so happy.
"You know him too?" Amelia asked, getting more confused.
"Oh, of course, I do," Lisa replied.
"Lisa, we'll talk later." Amelia swiftly jumping out of the bed and ending the call.
Just as she was about to step out, she bumped into a man's firm chest. He was so tall that she had to raise her head to look up.
Keith opened his mouth and asked, "Where were you going to?"
Amelia didn't say a word until he grabbed her hand, trying to get her to sit on the bed.
"What are you doing?" She said angrily
.....
It was then that he spoke, breaking the silence between them, "Did you read the contract?"
"No," she said rudely.
"Er?" he responded.
"And why is that?"
"Because you didn't give me the time to do so," Amelia replied, looking directly into his eyes.
Surprised, Keith looked at Amelia, recalling how she had been the one begging for forgiveness and a chance.
"Er... well, read it now," he said.
As she picked up the contract to read, he continued, "The contract is ending after two years. It contains your new identity and everything you should know about everyone you see in it."
"Why won't he just marry," she murmured to herself, speaking louder as she asked, "What is the reason why I have to act as your wife, though?"
"The reason? He smirked getting angry. "The reason is to settle your father's debt, of course. What more reason?" he said aggressively.
"Can I have my phone?" she asked.
"No. You can have it after tomorrow," he replied, leaving the room.
