I had another nightmare again. I have these episodes at least twice a month, and its always the same cycle. A woman which appears to be my mom, screaming moments before she gets brutally murdered by the scariest looking man to a ten-year old. I remember everything like it happened yesterday. He was dressed in all black, and had the creepiest smirk on his face after he had killed her. If it weren't for my aunt calling the police, I would've been his next victim.

It was 5am when i woke up, and since i planned to wake up at 6 anyways I just decided to forget about the nightmare and get ready for school. I got into Oakland Hills High School which was one of the proudest moments of my life. It is one of the most prestigious high schools in California. I got in on a fencing scholarship, and I've been counting down the days since middle school to finally go here.

I finally get ready and a wave of pride rushes over me as I look at myself in the mirror wearing the uniform. I meet my aunt downstairs and see her making breakfast for me and my cousin Tatiana, but we call her Tati and she's easily one of my favorite people in this house. My aunt, well, I don't want to sound ungrateful but she also isn't my biggest fan. I've known for a while now that for some reason she just doesn't like me and doesn't like that I've become attached to Tati. Maybe, she looks down on her sister for marrying a mafia member. I mean, look what good THAT did her. I tried to keep all my personal feelings aside for today and sat down to eat breakfast. She looked me up and down, assessing me, judging what I'm wearing or how my hair looks like. She's done this for as long as I can remember and every single time it just feels as bad as the first time. Tati says she's just looking out for me, but I think she just doesn't like anything I do. "Why does you look so tired" "I couldn't sleep well last night." "What was so important that you couldn't sleep last night?" See what I mean? I explained to her that I just had another nightmare again and she just brushed it off like she always does.

Finally, at 8am the bus arrived, and little did I know, this bus ride would change my life completely.
