"Your homeroom teacher can't come today since she was rushed to the hospital yesterday so I'll be watching over you guys for today" Taeyeon announced as she entered the classroom, shocking everyone including her daughter. They hadn't talked as Taeyeon's mood became foul after leaving the hospital with her so Winter was still nervous of what she'd done

"Did something bad happen ma'am? Where was she found?" One of the students asked and Winter felt her body going cold as she looks at her desk

"Hmm... Well I can't tell you since it's personal matters... All you need to know is she'll be fine" Taeyeon replied and Winter's head lifted up, she was about to ask if the teacher was alright when the door swung open

"Excuse me, sorry I'm late" Karina said as she entered the classroom

"What are you doing here? You should be resting, are you—"

"I'm alright, I was permitted to leave the hospital early since I recovered fast" Karina cutted her off as she settled her things down onto her desk

"What about your mom?" Taeyeon asked and Karina looked at her

"... That's why I was late... I had to convince her to let me go, this is my job afterall" Karina replies and her eyes wander the classroom, she eyes the special cases who immediately avoid eye contact

"If you'd be so kind Taeyeon unnie... Please leave my classroom as I've got to start class today" Karina says and looks at Taeyeon

"Are you sure you're fine though? I'll sit in the back... Just to make sure" Taeyeon replies and Karina leans closer to her

"Surely... You're over mom, are you not?" Karina asked and Taeyeon's body froze as she looks at Karina

"What she said yesterday got to you didn't it? Something about not protecting me better?... You shouldn't worry about me unnie... I'm quite the warrior" Karina says as she pats Taeyeon's shoulder and pulls away

"There's no secret between us, we know everything that should be known fact to you already" Karina replied as she stared at Taeyeon with a cold glare

"I don't need to hear explanations, it is your matter afterall... Now if you'll leave me to my job... I too have a matter that I have to take care of" Karina cuts her off and Taeyeon follows her gaze, she stared at her daughter... Who was getting paler and paler which immediately made her realize everything

"Oh damn..." Was all Giselle could say upon hearing Winter explain what had happened, they were gathered in the cafeteria as usual so ofcourse their whole friend group now knows what happened

"Miss Kim" Karina called out and Winter stumbles down her seat and her friends immediately look at the teacher who merely gave them a glance

"I hope you remember our talk the other day in detention" Karina says and walks away, Winter stares blankly in the air before hurriedly standing up and following the teacher

"Wait! Miss Karina!" Winter yelled but the teacher only kept walking, the students were also curious as to what was going on and paid attention to what was going on

"Wait! Let's talk!" Winter yells and she finally catches up to the teacher, holding her by the arm which made her halt

"Talk? We were already over that phase, Miss Kim. I gave you a chance at talk" Karina replied coldly and brushed the girl's hand off effortlessly

"I didn't mean—"

"Don't tell me that you didn't mean to do that because in all honesty you did, it was meticulously planned so ofcourse you meant for something to happen with that scheme of yours" Karina lowered her voice as she cutted Winter's words

"If you had just resigned on your own we wouldn't have done that" Winter fought back, it was a meaningless argument as to anyone who would know what had happened that... Winter was definitely in the wrong

"If I had resigned you would have done that to another teacher... Keep playing your cards Kim... Let's see where that'll get you" Karina says and leaves the student in the middle of the crowd that was forming to see what was happening, Winter immediately glared at the other students and stormed off. She shouldn't be scared now... What's there to be scared about?

And it was getting worse, the Kims arrived at the Yu's to be greeted by the host of the dinner, Tiffany Yu. Once they entered, they felt the intimidating aura of the place yet it looked all so modern and posh. The Yu siblings came out to greet them... Except for one

"Karina's running late, she's out with her girl" Irene said as they sat at the dinner table

"Her girl? Karina has a girlfriend?" Taeyeon asked

"Girlfriend? Our sister? By her girl we meant that she's out with her little girl, 5 years old" Jennie replied and Winter looked at her

"Girls stop that, the 5 year old kid is an orphan... She's being sponsored by Karina these days and studying under Karina's custody" Tiffany explained and Taeyeon looked at her with a shocked expression

"What? Karina may have my attitude but she grew up loved by everyone, she's only doing the same to others even if she gets her... Tantrums... On some days" Tiffany says as she looked at Taeyeon's expression

"I don't get tantrums, mom" Karina speaks as she entered the dining hall

"Finally! So? Any news?" Yeji asked and looked at Karina who took off her blazer and sat down on the empty seat next to their mom

"She's top of her class, I bought her some school things and some toys earlier after we played" Karina replied and smiled, she looks at her siblings and then... Her smile drops as she realised who was joining them for their meal

"That's great news honey, Now let's eat before the food gets cold" Tiffany says

The dinner was silent, the only noise was the plates and utensils clanking together and the constant ringing of silence. Winter couldn't look at her teacher, she didn't know why but she suddenly felt... Scared

"Isn't it suffocating?" Irene whispered and Winter looked at her, Taeyeon who also heard what she said immediately lifted her head up

"That's not coming off from us, that's solely from her" Irene said and pointed at Karina who wasn't batting an eye to anyone, she was just eating yet something about her felt very intimidating

"We have to eat with that feeling everyday" Jennie chimes in and Taeyeon looks at her, startled

"I'll be in my room if you need me, I have things to do" Karina says and everyone immediately straightens up which was ofcourse noticed by Karina

"Refrain from talking about me behind my back... It greatly displeases me" Karina remarks before leaving the table and somehow... It finally felt relieving, like everyone finally took a breath of fresh air

"That blind bat really makes good use of her senses huh" Jennie says and Irene immediately nudges her

"Oh... Is that why she always wear glasses?" Taeyeon asked and Tiffany nods with a sigh

"Her eyesight was impacted during her childhood after she was..." Tiffany stopped as she remembered what had happened

"Her eyesight was impacted because of that fear" Yeji replied and Taeyeon was taken aback

"How so?" Taeyeon asked, Winter kept a low profile and only listened in on the conversation as her eyes look at the stairs that Karina had climbed

"She was... Locked up in the basement for days... It was when I went to america for Jennie's graduation" Tiffany explained and Taeyeon listened intently

"I left Karina... With him, because she was still small and couldn't fly with us" Tiffany added and Taeyeon closed her eyes and sighed

"Ahh... So it's that bastards fault" Taeyeon said and no one dared to make a sound

"He locked her inside the basement after she cried and kept asking for me... When we came home he was nowhere to be found and Karina was on the brink of death from starvation for days" Tiffany added, her voice cracking

"It's why I said she was raised with love... After that incident I poured my everything into taking care of her and never leaving her side" Tiffany said and Irene rubbed her back, easing her mom

"He got what he deserved" Jennie said which immediately took Winter's attention

"He was killed off in the streets, the police said that he was cornered by a bunch of thugs on the street... They made an investigation about it but dropped it because no one was displeased about his death, not even our grandparents... They didn't even press charges against the ones who did it... They just said that he'd done enough and I couldn't agree more... Even if it's horrible to speak death of others... I'm glad he took his last breath" Tiffany explained and the whole room turned silent again, only to be interrupted by shoes tapping on the floor

"Have you seen my keys?" Karina asked as she leaned against the wall, a book in one hand and a phone in the other

"What keys?" Irene asked

"The keys to my box, it's not in my drawer" Karina replied and Tiffany immediately stood up

"For what? Karina I'm not letting you open that box again" Tiffany said which immediately made Karina's eyebrows furrow

"You're not using those tools anymore" Jennie said as she sipped her drink

"Why not?" Karina asked as she put her phone in her pocket

"Because you've done enough damage when you were using them" Yeji replied this time and Karina rolled her eyes

"That was one time" Karina replied and Irene scoffed

"One time my ass, you mean one thousand times that's why your teaching license was taken from you. You only got it back after you closed that damned box" Irene replied and Karina looked at her mom

"Urgh... Give me my keys and I'll only use the ones you approve of" Karina says and lends out her hand

"Which student caught your annoyance this time?" Tiffany asked and Winter felt like she just lost all the blood in her body and cold water was dumped on her after hearing that, she avoids looking at anyone until she sees shoes right beside her. She slowly lifted her head up to see Karina standing right beside her

"This... This little girl did, now give me my damn keys or her mom's gonna see something she wouldn't want to see happening to her daughter" Karina declared and Taeyeon immediately stood up, she was about to grab Karina's arm but Karina holds her by the collar and pushes her

"Your daughter's already laid her dirty hands on me, don't do the same unnie... I'd rather not hurt you" Karina says as Taeyeon stumbles back

"Isn't that right Winter? Why don't you tell everyone about your scheme and how you deliberately planned to put me in that Janitor's closet" Karina said as she leaned down against Winter's ear, she lightly kicks the girl's chair which immediately frightened Winter

Before Winter could finish talking Karina grabs ahold of her jaw, she tightly held and lifted Winter's face up to meet her gaze

"Don't fucking lie... It's bad enough that you did all that and now you're denying right in my face? Don't make me laugh" Karina said through gritted teeth as she lets go of the girl's jaw, Taeyeon was too stunned to do anything. She could only watch the scene unfold as she was now sure that Winter was behind it all

"Give me the damn keys" Karina demanded and Tiffany released a sigh before going to the master's bedroom and retrieving Karina's keys

Karina glances at the Kims before heading back up into her room

"Kim Taeyeon" Tiffany called and Taeyeon immediately looks at her
