Luz woke up the next morning with a spring in her step, light in her eyes, and a fire in her soul. As she looked herself over in the bathroom mirror she found that Hypox hadn't been joking, she had full grown Witch fangs, and her head only felt slightly tender instead of the headache inducing pain around the places on her forehead and temples where her horns were growing. She could have sworn she saw scales forming around those areas too, but it was too early to tell for sure. All in all Luz felt powerful... fierce... *bing*... and late. "Guano, I'm late." Luz threw on a pair of olive shorts, a sandy brown sleeveless, and her fingerless gloves as she rocketed down the hall using bursts of light and small bursts of flame for extra speed. She grabbed her hoodie off of the back of the couch, and her bag from next to the door. The only thing that she stopped for was to give King and Eda a kiss on their foreheads before she was off again.

Feeling the heat Eda groaned, "I told ya kid. No fire in the house, unless we're burning incriminating documents... have fun. I love you Owlet." After Luz was gone, Eda yawned, and scratched her head... finding a note. 'I love you too, Owl Mom' and on the bottom was a little drawing of Luz giving her a cheeky wink. Eda chuckled, "Yup, that's my girl."

Once Luz was clear of the yard, she started experimenting, and pushing her magic as she found new ways to fuse her two elements together. With the added power of having both runes, she could now use her fire as an afterburner at the end of each light jump to make each one even longer, and get more height. She could use small bursts of fire from her hands to reposition or alter direction on the fly to avoid hazards. Despite being five minutes behind leaving home, she made her trip in half the expected time meaning she actually had time to think while she waited on everyone else at the spot she had met Willow at the day before.

Pulling out her glyph notebook, Luz started to review. Her light beams and fire breath used the same glyph, as did her light orbs and fire balls, and jumps and afterburners, but what would happen with some of the others? While she waited she used the opportunity to see. Light healed, while fire 'purified' or cleansed using her healing glyph. Illusion made her invisible or created a heat mirage, but still no true illusions much to her annoyance. Plant glyph was still a dead glyph, but she wasn't sure if it was a problem of understanding or not having the right rune yet. When it came to her oracle glyph... she knew it was on her because the spells would flair, but without a visible result. Maybe she could ask Barcus later for some help. Before she could try any more she felt two tiny cold hands reach around her, and cover her eyes. In a voice that made Luz's heart dance she heard Amity whisper in her ear, "Morning. Is it weird that I find the face you make when you're studying adorable?"

Luz laughed, and spun around to give her girlfriend a good morning hug and kiss on the nose, making Amity giggle. With loving eyes Luz answered, "Only if it's weird that I think you're beautiful all the time, mi amor." Luz heard snickering behind her, and saw Gus and Willow trying to hold in their own laughter. Luz just quirked an eyebrow, "Laugh it up. You're just jealous. One of these days you'll find partners of your own, and they still won't be half as amazing as my Amity." It then occurred to Luz that her and Gus never actually got properly introduced.

Noticing Luz's look Gus smiled, "Augustus Porter, master illusionist, and human expert at your service. Thanks for the save yesterday. When Willow said she made a new friend I was nervous, but you seem cool. So where were you from before you moved to Bonesborough? I'm sure I would have heard if there was a living drake on the Isles."

Luz snickered, "Human expert you say? Then you'll be able to identify these..." Luz uncovered her ears making Gus's jaw drop. "Yup. I was raised in the Human realm, and all this wrym-ness is still new. At my core, I still think of myself as human at least for now. Who knows, maybe I'll sprout a tail next." Luz let out a groan, "That would be awkward." While they walked Luz continued to introduce herself, "Officially my name is Luzura Noceda-Clawthorne, and I'm the adopted daughter of the infamous Owl Lady. I lucked out. My Mom happens to double as my mentor, but as an actual 'human' feel free to ask any questions you might have Gus."
